Introduction

Reincarnation is the ability where after one dies, they are reborn into a new life. Unlike Body Swapping, Avatar Creation, or Possession, reincarnation users body is there actual body, they just now taken on a new life. This ability is similar in essence to Resurrection, as the user comes back from death, though it is due to them being in a new body and life, the way reincarnation varies from verse to verse.

Types

• Reincarnation Cycle: The most popular variation of reincarnation is one where one is in a cycle of life and death, famously from the Hindu religions cycle of life and death.
  • Users
    • The Sailor Guardians from Sailor Moon: The Sailor Guardians have a cycle of death and rebirth spawning from the Galaxy Cauldron which is responsible for this.
    • Characters from Megami Tensei: All things originate and come from the Axiom, thus once they die they return to The Axiom and are reborn anew.
    • Characters from Asura's Wrath: There is a cycle of life and death within Asura's Wrath that allows everyone killed at the end of the game to reincarnate into the far future.

• Non-Cycle: This is a lesser known variation where there is no actual cycle of life and death and it's mainly the one singular person is able to reincarnate.

• Self-Reincarnation: In this case the user is able to control their own reincarnation allowing them to do things like be reborn with all of the previous skills and abilities they've had beforehand, but better.

Applications

• Standard: The most common standard version of reincarnation is where one dies and is reborn into a new life, having none of their memories from their past life and not being aware they had a past life at all.
  • Users: Asura (Asura's Wrath)

• Memory Remembrance: This reincarnation breeches into one of one having memories from their past life. This can vary from one having vague premonitions and memories of their past life to complete memories of their past life, being fully aware of who they were.
  • Users: Akemi Nakajima (Megami Tensei), Mothra (Monsterverse)

• Atemporal Cycle: This reincarnation is mainly for those under the reincarnation cycle type, this type does not abide by a past life needing to be in the actual past, a past life can be considered the future. Due to atemporal cycles, this can allow one to reincarnate and grow up fast enough to deal with threats if need be.
