Introduction
Jack is a masculine given name of English origin, derived from the Old French name Jacques, itself from the Latin Iacobus (James). It's typically derived from being a common english name or the character is inspired by Jack the Ripper, an infamous killer. Some forms of Jack can remove the c and spell just "Jak", referring to the popular PS2 character from the Jak and Daxter series.
