Bonds

Introduction
Bond (also referred to as Affection and Friendship) in the Pokémon series is a connection between the trainer and their Pokémon. It can either be a positive bond where both have a deep love for each other, or it can be negative as shown with some evil teams where the Pokémon still cares for their trainer but the trainer is destructive.
A bond is first officially recognized by Oak in Pokémon Red/Blue/Green when telling Blue why he lost where he forgot to treat his Pokémon trust and love and the bond Red shared with his Pokémon was marvelous[1].
Abilities
- Supernatural Bond (Bonds are the result of the connection between a Pokémon and their trainer[1], where the trainer and the Pokémon are completely in sync[2] and the Pokémon will make sure to listen to its trainers commands, even if its asleep)
- Pressure Points (A trainer and Pokémon at maximum bond can be so in sync they can automatically land critical hits[2]. A bonded Pokémon can land a critical hit wishing to be praised. Critical hits are in actuality pressure point strikes, with the Japaense version noting "Hit a pressure point!")
- Accelerated Development
- Other/Leveling
- Physical Stats & Abilities: Bonded Pokémon gets boosted experience in battle[3].
- Other/Leveling
- Autopilot (Even while asleep a Pokémon will hear their trainers call and dodge an attack)
- Sheer Will (Due to the strong bond between a Pokémon and their trainer, they will sometimes refuse to faint even if at 1 HP and hit by a critical hit. Through sheer determination a Pokémon can heal its burn status effect so its trainer wouldn't worry)
- Statistics Amplification (If the trainers bonds are close with a Pokémon, it can hit harder then normal and is described to be the true source of their maximum potential brought out by the trainer. It's noted by Cyrus that one can turn their bonds with their Pokémon into strength[4]. Giovanni describes the strength of the Ultra Sun/Moon's as great and realizes its due to the care he put into his Pokémon[5]. Pokémon with strong bonds can fight against legendaries)
Resistances
- Resistance to
- Status Effect Inducement
- Paralysis Inducement (Pokémon can gather all of their energy to break through its paralysis)
- Temperature Manipulation & Fire Manipulation (Can blow on its burns to remove the burn status effect from itself)
- Poison Manipulation (Can expel the poison from itself so that their Trainer wouldn't worry)
- Sleep Manipulation (Can shake itself awake so that the Trainer won't worry)
- Status Effect Inducement
