This article will be discussing the history of The Codex Wiki from start to finish. There will likely be updates on it as time goes on.

Before the wiki was called The Codex Wiki, it was initially called DebatesJungle Wiki and was founded by a user known as The Tetromino King, initially made on Fandom's wiki hosting site. The earliest date of the main page was November 11, 2018. At this point in time the wiki was a full on powerscaling wiki.
The Tetrimono King recruited various people to join their new wiki on the same date, promoting many people to moderation levels such as content mod, adminstrator, and burecrat.
This dropdown contains a complete history of the mods that were promoted and retired, do note "retired" could mean that they simply retired or were removed. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!
During this era the standards and requirements for tiers were far more lax. The tiering system utilized dimensionality, in which one with a higher dimensionality has an uncountably infinite superior to one of a lower dimensionality. It's 1-A dealt wth characters transcendening the concept of dimensions, essentially having Dimensionless Existence. This era spawned many mods as to create various pages on characters from Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Visual Novels, and anything that was moreso popular to the niche side of the powerscaling community for their incredibly high tiers.
Another interesting thing to note is that many of the tier names were different from what they are now:
Tier 11 was called Lower-Dimensional instead of Lowest Energy Scales.
11-C was Point level instead of Absolute Zero.
11-B was Line level instead of Planck level.
11-A was Plane level instead of Patricle level.
9-C was Bone level instead of Peak Human level.
9-A was Small Building level instead of Room level.
8-A was Multi-City Block level instead of City District level.
Tier 7 was called Nuclear instead of Settlement Hierarchy.
7-A was Metropolis level instead of Metropolis level.
Tier 5 was called Planetary instead of Planetary System.
5-A was Large Planet level instead of Dwarf Star level. Along with this there was no High 5-B which is currently the rating for Large Planet level.
Tier 4 was called Stellar instead of Star System.
4-A was Multi-Solar System level instead of Star Cluster level. Along with this there was no High 4-B which is currently the rating for Multi-Solar System level.
Tier 3 was called Cosmic instead of Larger Cosmological Structure.
3-B was called Multi-Galaxy level instead of Galaxy Cluster level. Along with this there was no High 3-C which is currently the rating for Multi-Galaxy level.
3-A was called Macrocosm level instead of Supercluster level.
High 3-A was called High Macrocosmic level instead of Multi-Supercluster level.
Tier 2 was called Macroversal instead of Macrocosmic.
Low 2-C existed and was called Macrocosmic level+.
2-C was called Low Macroversal level instead of Universe level.
2-B was called Macroverse level instead of Multi-Universe level.
2-A was called Macroverse level+ instead of Multiverse level.
There was not 2-A+ for Multiverse level+.
High 2-A existed and was called High Macroverse level+.
Tier 1 was called Complex Macroversal instead of The Absolute Infinite.
Low 1-C existed and was called Low Complex Macroverse level.
1-C existed and was called Complex Macroverse level.
High 1-C existed and was called High Complex Multiverse level.
Low 1-B existed and was called Low Transverse level.
1-B existed and was called Transverse level.
High 1-B existed and was called High Transverse level.
1-A existed and was called Transcendent level.
High 1-A existed and was called Meta-Transcendent level.
Tier 0 existed and was called Devoid.
Another interesting thing to note with the very first version of the tiering system is that it didn't have High 8-C, Low 7-C, High 7-C, Low 7-B, High 7-A, High 6-C, Low 6-B, High 6-B, High 6-A, Low 5-B, High 5-A, Low 4-C & High 4-C; some of which are not on the system today, although during this time these tiers were still used, they were just not listed on the tiering system, this was fixed in a later edit by DarkNeon1994.
Another thing is that for some reason High 1-C itself still had the name High Complex Multiverse level instead of High Complex Macroverse level, this was fixed in a later edit by Shivansh Garg.
The tiering system page initially wasn't called "Tiering System" either, it was called "DebatesJungle Tiering System" which is why the redirect exists.
Quality control was far lower back then, a lot of profiles rarely had many scans and at times abilities would not have justifications, and abilities names themselves were rarely ever linked. This is an example of an old beginning era DebatesJungle profile. This is the era where the site itself was moreso for fun and distraction.

This era mainly started after the retirement of The Tetrimono King, during this era the staff made many standard pages and start setting more rules for tiering, along with fixing how a lot of powers and abilities pages worked. This also started the era of mainly fixing pages from the older era, trying to update it with the new look of the site.

Q&A Section from The Tetromino King
While making this article I was able to get in touch with the original creator of the wiki, The Tetromino King. So I asked him some questions as I felt it'd be interesting to get some updates from him, the following questions are below, they were gathered from a discord conversation you can read here:
Q: What was the initial reason you made the site?
A: From my memory, I initially wanted to create my own powerscaling site with my own rules and own profiles without other wiki staff having to complain about it.
Q: Was there a similar site that existed before that you made?
A: Yeah, there were plenty powerscaling sites i used, although i don't remember much of their names anymore besides vsbw.
Q: What made you lose interest on continuing with the site?
A: I haven't been busy with the Powerscaling staff and focusing on fictional debates much, I have forgotten most of knowledge and don't even have most of my sources antmore. Besides that my dopamine hits on other things i have enjoyed, so naturally previous things would be less interesting.
Q: What do you think of the site changes?
A: I like the changes and I love how the site progressed much. I'm proud on how everyone came so far.
Q: What do you think of the name change from DebatesJungle to The Codex?
A: The name is preferable within the context of fictional battles, it makes alot of sense to me and i have no objections to it.
Q: What do you think of the move from fandom to being it's own independent site?
A: I feel like that is better since the various updates from fandom, which make various wikis less functional than they used to be. An independent site was something I initially wanted myself.
Q: How have things been since you left the site?
A: Things been going well, i have been focusing on my college, focusing on things I enjoy and just taking care of myself.
Q: What would you call your favorite time period from the site?
A: That goes way back, when I still was owner, I actually enjoyed the time around with my fellow staff and members.
Q: Do you have any plans for making a new site? If so what would the topic be?
A: I have no plans on the future, but if i would, I would probably make a site about Philosphy, history, Health/fitness or animals.
