Background

Limitless Traversal is the ability to cross distances that cannot be resolved by the speed formula. Effectively they can traverse limitless spaces in finite time without abiding by logic.

This is an ability rather then a speed feat due to the way the speed formula works. Crossing an infinite space would take an infinite amount of time, this is not due to one's speed but due to the fact that infinity is not a number but a concept that does not have properties or can be applied to numbers naturally. Crossing infinite space in finite time cannot be reconciled with the speed formula; any finite time divided into infinite distance yields infinity as the result as no matter what number is plugged into infinity it is infinity. The traversal thus occurs as a function of the ability itself, not as a consequence of velocity.

Limitless Traversal may manifest as crossing infinite distances, bridging gaps that have no measurable length, moving through spaces where distance does not function normally, or reaching destinations that are normally unreachable through conventional means. The time taken is arbitrary and disconnected from the distance covered.

While this can be applied to Dimensional Travel, Limitless Traversal is more for crossing distances that cannot be quantified, thus it'd be a sub-ability of Absolute Access.

Also Called

  • Infinite Traversal
  • Infinite Crossing
  • Unbound Distance Traversal
  • Limitless Movement
  • Impossible Crossing

Possible Applications

  • Crossing infinite space in finite time
  • Traversing distances that have no measurable length
  • Moving through spaces where distance does not function normally
  • Reaching destinations regardless of how far away they are

Practical Uses

  • Infinite Crossing: The user can cross infinite distances in finite time, reaching any point within an infinite space regardless of how far it is.
  • Unmeasurable Distance: The user can traverse distances that have no defined length, crossing gaps that cannot be quantified by normal measurement.
  • Abstract Reach: The user can reach locations that are conventionally unreachable; places that are "too far," "beyond," or otherwise impossible to access through conventional movement. Such as if one puts one into an achilles paradox yet they stil surpass the tortoise.

Possible Limitations

  • The ability may only apply to certain types of distances or spaces.
  • The user may still need to know the destination.
  • The ability may not function in all environments.
