User:SuperSaiyan2Link/Siegfried's Dropkick

From The Codex

Siegfried Schtauffen from Soulcalibur absolutely destroys people with his dropkick move, in the Soul Blade arcade game. This happens to everybody in the game equally, though in the example I'm using here, he uses it on Taki.

This will be a KE calculation. Before you say anything, the KE would obviously be intentional, as kinetic energy is the entire point of a dropkick. Also, the results will (hopefully) be consistent with the rest of the verse anyways. Regardless, the formula for KE is: KE=1/2mv^2

m is mass, v is velocity. Mass will simply be found through Taki's weight, and then velocity can be calculated by seeing how far and how fast Taki flew out of the ring.

Taki's official height and weight are seen here, because Soulcalibur is very nice and gives heights and weights of every character. Starting with finding Mass, that's simple. Taki's official weight, seen in the video I just posted, is 117 lbs, or 53 kg.

m = 53 kg

Next, to find out how how far and fast Taki was flown. Using her official height of 5'7", or 1.7 m, we can see just what I need.

Here we can see a great angle of how far Taki was kicked, and from where she was kicked from. Drawing a line from Taki to where she was pre-kick, using her official height...

Taki was kicked a total of... 25.5 meters. Looking again at the video of the dropkick, we can see that she was kicked this length in exactly one second. Which means we have Velocity covered.

v = 25.5 m per second

Now we have both Mass and Velocity, we can find the Kinetic Energy of Siegfried's dropkick.

KE = 1/2mv^2

KE = 1/2(53)(25.5)^2

KE = 17,231.625 J

17,231.625 J = 17.23 Kilojoules, Wall level (9-B)
