Introduction
Olimar falls from orbit in the original game, which leaves him unconscious and outside his ship. We'll be doing a rather standard calculation for this based off of our calculation for low-orbit falls.
The Calculation
Version One
Using this to figure out how to calculate the the speed at which Olimar fell, we'll first need his weight.
The average weight of a male japanese man is about 62.5kg, and the average height is about 170.7cm. Compare that to Olimar's 1.9cm, and Olimar is about 89.8421052632 times smaller than a regular male human.
This would also mean Olimar's weight is only about 0.69566490919 kilograms. Plugging that into this calculator, and we get a terminal velocity speed of... huh, turns out I have no fucking clue what I'm doing.
So plan B, I'm gonna go over to Smashor's Pikmin blog, and use his speed since I haven't figured out how to properly calculate this (I'll find out soon).
Smashor's calculation seemingly got 42.5560 m/s, which is better than mine, given mine is ridiculously high in comparison. Furthermore, this speed matches up pretty well with Terminal Velocity speed of an average human, more reason to use this speed I guess.

Version Two
Okay, this version will not use the weight used above, and will instead factor in the Pikmin's lifting strength and the number of Pikmin needed to carry Olimar.
We will have three ends; Our low-end being one Pikmin, our mid-end being four Pikmin, and our high-end being five Pikmin. These are the three numbers of Pikmin required throughout all three of the Pikmin titles.
So how much can a single Pikmin carry? Well throughout the series, one item weight has remained the same, which is the cherry, which requires just one Pikmin to carry even in Pikmin 2.
An average cherry weighs about 11g. Now that we have our weight and speed, we can begin with our final equations.
Low-End: 0.5*11g*42.5560m/s^2 = 9.960572248 joules
Mid-End: 0.5*44g*42.5560m/s^2 = 39.842288992 joules
High-End: 0.5*55g*42.5560m/s^2 = 49.80286124 joules
The safest bet is probably the middle-end, since that was the amount of Pikmin needed to carry Olimar in Pikmin 1, where he survived the initial crash landing.
