Introduction

So Sapphire from Steven Universe hits a baseball so hard that it parts a random cloud, leaving nothing left. Time to see how I murder Steven Universe's scaling.

The Calculation

Math & Stuff

Alright, the average baseball is about 2.86 inches, or 0.072644 meters in diameter. This is important because we vet a shot of the baseball in comparison to the cloud right before the two collide.

— The baseball's diameter is 15.26px in diameter. Using the measurements for the cloud and using the formula for an ellipsoid volume gets our total volume to be 8.4854339754222 meters³.

The timeframe at which the cloud parted completely (as in the cloud was ripped into pieces, since it never fully disappears in-frame) is about 13 frames out of 25fps, which makes the speed about 2.95604 meters per second.

As for the density of the cloud, we'll be using this formula to get our result. Using the measurements from before, we get a mass of 5,256.03031kg.

Plugging this into a KE calculator gets us our final result.

Final Equation

0.5 * 5,256.03031 * 2.95604 = 22964.049708649 joules, essentially nigh-baseline Wall level. This is far more realistic given the cloud in question is super tiny, although there are probably higher feats in Steven Universe.

Conclusion

23 Kilojoules, wall level.
