This character or verse has mature themes and concepts, thus those of young age are ill-advised to look through these. |
Background
Strange Men, also called as Uri-verse is a collection of RPG Maker series made by the creator [Uri]. All of these series exist in the same universe.
The Strange Men Anthology
The following are the continuation of the Strange Men series.
- The Crooked Man: In The Crooked Man, you play as David Hoover, a troubled single man who just bought a new apartment with the help of his two friends, Paul and Marion. Soon, he realizes that there may be something wrong with the place. It seems somehow... haunted. Not long after, he finds a letter. And another. Soon he follows a trail of notes, which lead him to abandoned areas in town. However, he isn't alone. Along the way he meets a variety of people who each have their own problems, all similar to David's. And at each stop he sees one familiar face... A man with an impossibly bent neck. Between avoiding him, and solving many riddles, you are sure to have a great time with The Crooked Man.
- The Sandman: A girl named Sophie Grundler suffers from insomnia. No matter what she tries, she's unable to fall asleep. One night, she notices something odd going on with all the clocks and the town itself. She discovers that the Sandman, a fairy who controls everyone's sleeping patterns, has decided to put the whole world to sleep forever. Now she's the only one who can stop him.
- The Boogie Man: Keith Baring is a cold, devoted detective whose boss decides he needs to take some time off. While on a tour of an old castle with his wife Helena, she makes a startling confession to him. Keith goes to bed bewildered - but things only become stranger as the Boogie Man's game begins. While saving the guests, Keith is forced to chase the Boogie Man through the castle. The game is not as scary as the Crooked Man, but the plot is intriguing. The ending has a twist.
- The Hanged Man: A boy walks through the snow, wandering around town. after running from place to place, he ends up in an old, abandoned building in the woods. Though he hoped to leave soon, when his best friend runs away, he must face his trial and go in search for him.
Others
The following are games not apart of the Strange Men series but are still in the same universe as it.
- Insanity: A group of high school students are told of an old mansion that is supposedly haunted. One day, they decide to go investigate it. They look around and stumble upon a corpse in the dining room. They attempt to leave, but they quickly discover the front door is locked. Now they have to find a way out while avoiding the dangers that the mansion holds.
- Paranoiac: Three years after her aunt's death, Miki Takamura moves into her late aunt's unattended house. Everything seems normal at first, but after her first night in the house, things make a sudden turn. A strange creature starts chasing her at night, strands of hair appear in strange places, and odd sounds echo throughout the house. Are all these events caused by supernatural forces or is Miki slowly losing her mind?
- Mermaid Swamp: During their vacation, Rin Yamazaki and her friends get lost in a mountainous area. Suddenly, they're forced to stay with a mysterious old man when their car stopped working. During their stay, they encounter some weird things happening to the group. Rin has strange dreams about being under water, Yuka swells up and keeps saying she's cold, and the guys start turning violent. What's more, the man who let them stay is gone and they are unable to contact help. Is this the curse of the mermaid in the legend or is there something more to these events?
- Pedestal: There once was a young girl well-known by her school. Her classmates have mixed feelings for her, some hate her and some like her. One day, though, someone finds her dead in her home. No one knows for sure if she was murdered or if she committed suicide. How will this mystery be put to rest?
Power of the Verse
Many of the haracters in Strange Men are around Peak Human strength with Athletic Human or lower speed, though some do reach superhuman speeds. The more mystical characters in the series are naturally superhuman in strength, being able to easily kill a character in one hit or can transform themself into things like dragons. The verse also contains some supernatural abilities, most notably in The Sandman with abilities such as, Dream Manipulation, Sleep Manipulation, Reality Warping, Illusion Creation, Time Stop, Wish Granting, etcetera.
