Background

Magic: the Gathering is an iconic card game made by the company Wizards of the Coast in 1993. It is a fantasy card game, involving spells, goblins, dragons, lightning, merfolk, elves, etc. It is a 2+ player game that is turn based, involving different "steps" such as "Untap", Combat, End-Step, etc.

There are four primary rarity ratings for cards, determined by the color of the symbol on the mid-right side of the card. The four ratings are: Common (Black), Uncommon (Silver), Rare (Gold), and Mythic (Orange)

There are also many formats, most of which contain 60 cards, allowing up to 4 copies of the same "nonbasic land cards" to be used in it. There is also Commander, a format that uses 100 card decks, including one legendary creature (or planeswalker that can be your commander) that determines the deck's color identity. This format only allows one copy of nonbasic land cards per deck.

The story revolves around beings known as Planeswalkers. One in a million people are born with a Planeswalker spark, and it is even rarer for it to ignite. However, due to the infinite size of the multiverse, Planeswalkers are vast in number.

All Planeswalkers have the ability to use magic and "planeswalk", which is an ability used to travel through different planes. They used to be god-like entities, until the Mending happened due to the amount of temporal rifts there were in the multiverse. The Mending healed the multiverse, but changed the spark forever, greatly weakening the planeswalkers.

A certain number of Planeswalkers created a group known as "The Gatewatch", which seeks to end evil in the multiverse and bring peace to all. The original members are Gideon Jura, Chandra Nalaar, Nissa Revane, and Jace Beleren, with more joining in along the story, such as Kaya or Teferi

Powers of the Verse

Magic: the Gathering varies wildly in power, either in terms of physicals or by magic. Post-Mending planeswalkers can be anywhere from Room level to City level, but mainly shines in terms of Hax, having their "spark" tied with the Blind Eternities and using a lot of durability negating magic, such as Mind Manipulation, Logic Manipulation, Power Nullification, Essence Manipulation/Conceptual Manipulation, Nothingness Manipulation, and many more.

Planeswalkers before the mending were much more powerful, causing temporal rifts across the multiverse due to their immense power, having all sorts of abilities such as Subjective Reality, Irreversible Damage, BFR and Fusionism, Duality Manipulation, Abstract Existence and more.

The verse's power is not limited to that of planeswalkers. There are other powerful entities, such as The Ur-Dragon, Yawgmoth, and The Prismatic Piper
