Hey all, Sharaku here!
I'm sure some of you may know me from the Death Battle Fanon Wiki. Incidentally, this is my first explanation blog here, so I'll try to make it as concise and get straight to the point.
Saint Seiya is one of my favorite verses, and I like to think that I know quite a bit about the series. So today I'm here to present many speed feats from the series that have been overlooked up until now, which make the series quite faster.
Yes, the series gets faster.
Anyways, here we go.
Saint Seiya (Classic Series)
Bronze Saints in the Hyperdimension
Near the final act of Saint Seiya's Hades Chapter, Seiya and the other four Bronze Saints must cross through the Hyperdimension, or the "Super Dimensional Space" in the original Viz Media translation.
Seiya: It's some kind of Super Dimensional Space!
Shun: Time and Space are in constant flux here.
Hyoga: No wonder only Gods can pass through.
This is consistent with different translations as well. Seiya and the rest of the Bronze Saints then pass through it by awakening Wings embedded in the backs of their cloths. They then proceed to fly through the rest of the Hyperdimension in order to reach Elysium.
If this sounds familiar, that's because it is. This is one of the most infamous speed feats from the original series. Notably, it has been calculated before on VS Battles Wiki. Incidentally though, there is one line in the screenshot above that helps show that this feat indeed reaches speeds of Extra-Temporal levels, and it's right at the beginning of the events in the story.
Seiya: Another dimension?
Shun: What a strange sight! Space and Time distorted...
Hyoga: This really is a place only Gods can enter.
Here's the thing. Shun's statement is not baseless at all, as later we see the distance increase between Shun and Seiya, showing that the space between the two Saints was continuously increasing.
Virgo Shaka and several other Saints consistently stated that only the Gods can pass through the space. Hades previously was generally unaffected by Lyra Orpheus's time stop and could even stand up during it, showing that the Gods can circumvent time-related effects.
With this in mind, we can piece together a few things. The Hyperdimension is a space in which the timeframe and the distance continuously change in order to prevent many from reaching the way to Elysium. But thanks to an awakening in their Cloths, Seiya and the gang are able to make the distance towards Elysium.
If the timeframe and distance kept changing in the Hyperdimension, and Seiya, the other Bronze Saints, as well as Hades and Athena were able to cross through the entirety of it regardless, this would logically give them Extra-Temporal Speed.
This feat would mainly scale to Pegasus Seiya, Andromeda Shun, Cygnus Hyoga, Dragon Shiryu and Phoenix Ikki, as they are all the ones who traversed through the Hyperdimension, albeit at different points.
Saint Seiya: Episode G/Saint Seiya: Episode G Assassin
Episode G: Athena From the Future
This next one is quite simple, thankfully. During the final battle of Saint Seiya: Episode G, the canonical prequel to Saint Seiya's Classic series, Leo Aiolia, on the verge of death, is visited by Saori Kido/Athena from the future, who restores him to his full vitality, allowing him to go on fighting.
"Athena? Is this an illusion? No... Athena surely hasn't been reborn in this era... Is this Cosmo coming from the distant future?
Athena showing up in the past, from the future to help Aiolia is quite easily Extra-Temporal as well, as traversing through time with one's speed would give them this rating.
Episode G Assassin: Athena Traverses Timelines
Another one that's quite simple, and it's coming from Athena again.
Athena: You... are... Shura. I have... went through time... traveled through worlds and history... all this, just to... answer your call.
So yeah. Athena travels through time in order to answer a younger Capricorn Shura's call for help. As this feat is pretty similar to the one above, it should also get the same Extra-Temporal rating.
Saint Seiya Omega
Saturn and the Space Beyond Time
In Saint Seiya: Omega, there's a villain called Saturn who's being built up as living at the end of all time, or the place where the past, present and the future diverges into one place.
And here's the images showing that Saturn himself lives in this center point of time.
Essentially, Saturn lives beyond the realm of normal time and in a place past it, where Saturn can travel to any place across time. Again, kinda similar to the various assorted Athena feats above. This would scale through to Saturn, obviously, and Pegasus Kouga in his Super Omega Pegasus Divine Cloth scales as he's stated to be even with him.
Summary
Essentially, all of the high tiers of the Saint Seiya-verse scale to Extra-Temporal Speeds.
- Seiya and the Bronze Saints are Extra-Temporal to passing through the Hyperdimension, a place where time was non-linear.
- Athena and Hades subsequently scale to it as well due to also passing through it themselves. Many of the other Gods should also scale due to them being around the same level, or directly fighting the Bronze Saints or Athena. Zeus was stated to be even with Athena, Poseidon and Hades. In addition this would scale to Kronos, who fought Zeus.
- Athena is Extra-Temporal due to traversing through time with her speed on multiple occasions.
- Saturn is Extra-Temporal due to moving beyond the realms of time.
- Pegasus Koga scales to him as well due to them being completely even with each other.
Note
This blog may be updated further if more feats come out for the series.
