I'm sure you have already presumed this mark represents the beginning of Act 6. The disc should be ready to run in time to witness the Critical Event, a confluence of thickly interwoven, aconcurrent circumstances which have been meticulously arranged by myself, influenced to a much lesser extent by you, and by an even more negligible degree, our heroes. The scratch will be healed in time to watch these heroes put into motion, yes, The Scratch itself.

| '''Doc Scratch''' is a major character in Homestuck. He was born out of Lil' Cal, and is Alternia's first guardian. He gives [[Vriska Serket|numerous]] [[Rose Lalonde|characters]] information about what is happening around them, and about the event known as the Scratch, which is a hard reboot on existence.

| After a scratch in reality happens, [[MSPA Reader|the reader]] visits Doc Scratch in order to repair "the disc of reality". Doc then tells the story while the disc is being repaired, up onto nearly the end of Act 5. He is then ambushed by [[Andrew Hussie]] and turned into a lifeless puppet. However, at Act 5 Intermission 2 ([S]: Begin Intermission 2 to be exact), it is revealed that Doc Scratch is [[Caliborn|Lord English]]'s vessel, and Doc Scratch manipulated Rose into using the tumor, lying to her that it would destroy the Green Sun. In truth, it does the opposite; It kills two universes which causes the birth of the Green Sun, so that when Lord English comes into the dead universe, he is powered up.
