Much stronger characters exist too - Archdevils, Demon Lords, Slaadi Lords, and a few more can be found anywhere from Universe level or Low Multiverse level for controlling one or more layers of hell, or High Multiverse level for scaling to Demogorgon, who shook the entire abyss and the infinite hells within it. Gods are Hyper Multiverse level for being beyond the material planes altogether, along with Ao the Overdeity being Low Complex Multiverse level for being beyond them, and Vecna being able to reach this power as well.

The Far Realms are completely beyond DND's cosmology as a whole, making the "realm" Low Complex Multiversal+. The Luminous Being, or Dungeon Master, is completely transcendent of the verse, making the verse Complex Multiversal in total

Thanks to the nature of saving throws and massive variety of spells, characters are able to resist a massive number of powers. Weaker characters have a handful of spells and abilities to go off of. Meanwhile, Gods also have access to every spell in DND, are ensured that they go before their opponents, can chose to automatically succeed their saving throws to prevent being blitzed or haxed, have impressive immortality and regeneration capabilities, and scale above Demon Lords, who already are superior to an infinite number of lesser demons from the abyss.

New to the world of Dungeons & Dragons? Whether you’re asking “What is D&D?” because you love Stranger Things, fought in an immersive video game, played a D&D board game, or read any of the novels written by its fantasy authors, welcome to the world’s greatest roleplaying game!

At its heart, D&D is a game that focuses on storytelling. The dice just help you along. Everything is your decision, from what you look like, to how you act, to what happens next.

Dungeons & Dragons is about having fun with your friends. Together you build a shared narrative, as you guide your heroes through quests for treasure, battle with deadly foes, engage in courtly intrigue, enact daring rescues and much more. Whether you want to join a pirate gang that loves combat, revel in the exploration of hidden jungle ruins, or enjoy the social interaction of a political plot is entirely up to you.

The collective creativity in your D&D game builds stories that you’ll tell again and again—ranging from the stuff of legend to absurd incidents that’ll make you laugh years later. Have fun and remember the golden rule—never split the party!

~ What is D&D?

Background

Dungeons and Dragons (alternatively Dungeons & Dragons, abbreviated as DND or D&D) is a Fantasy Table-Top RPG designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, orginally published by TGR from 1974-1977 and Wizards of the Coast afterwards.

To play, a group of players must each build their own character, using books such as Player's Handbook (PHB), along with alternative additions, such as Xanathar's Guide to Everything. There also is one Dungeon Master (or DM) to guide the campaign, using a Dungeon Master's Guide and a book for whatever campaign they are running to reference.
