Background

Power Mimicry is the ability to copy the powers and abilities of others through various mechanisms. The methods used to copy them and their limitations, such as those limited to a certain type of power, vary depending on the character, but they usually have to see the power in action before they can copy it. Some characters may even apply this ability to martial and physical skills, copying the fighting styles of others.The user's copied abilities may be inferior to the original or may only be retained for a short time, but others may actually better those powers.

Limitations

Even though they may copy the capabilities of the ability, they may not be able to copy all its destructive power.
