Introduction

Dr.Shake is back and better than ever. This time we get to actually see what he does as an attack. We'll be finding the KE to raise the entire arena like this, since it is an attack.

The Calculation

Version One

For starters, we'll need to find the area of the arena. In a previous calculation, we found Travis' height to be 1.842m.


Using his height and comparing it to the arena, we find the radius to be 33.3379334205m. This gives us an area of 3491.62m.

Next up, we need to find out how deep the stone pillars go. For this scene, we'll compare them to Dr.Shake itself.


In this scene, we've compared Dr.Shake to Henry Cooldown (Travis' twin brother), who should be Travis' height.

Henry's head = 11px

Dr.Shake = 456px

The standard human head is about eight heads tall, which makes Henry's head 0.23025m. This makes Dr.Shake 9.54490909008m tall.

Now with that, the volume of the full arena 33327195500cm³ (Went ahead and converted the volume to centimeters for simplicity's sake).

This makes the weight 83817896.68kg. Now with that done, time to find the speed.

It takes the pillars about seven frames out of 25fps to reach its full height. That's 0.28 seconds to move 9.54490909008 meters. This is 122.7202049 km/h.

Now that we have all of that done, time to plug it all into our KE formula, which is KE = 0.5*M*V^2. Before that, I should note that I'll only be using half the arena's weight since a good amount of the pillars stay in the ground.

E = 0.5*41908948.34*122.7202049^2 = 24350281070.659 joules... or 5.81985685245196027 tons of TNT Large Building level.


Version Two

Okay, so me and fellow No More Heroes expert Miss Merlin were discussing a potentially higher speed for Mr.Shake's shockwaves.

In short, Dr.Shake's shockwaves can push people and objects so fast they catch on fire and turn to ash. As a high-end, we'll assume the arena pillars were moving at these speeds.

This bumps our original speed from a measily 122.7202049 km/h to a far more impressive 6000 km/h.

E = 0.5*41908948.34*6000^2 = 58206882007544 joules, or 13.9117786825 kilotons, which is a little above baseline Town level. Now this is a far better result for No More Heroes 2 Travis Touchdown.
