Calculating Bahamut's main attack, Megaflare, just because he's a standard Summon and not one who's abilities would just be chalked up to elemental hax. This is going to be taken from 2022's "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion", which gave us the most clear and easy-to-calc version of the attack.

This video is what will be used to display the attack

Size Measurements

As you can see in the video, the enemies that the Megaflare is attacking is an enemy known as the Boundfat, which is a simple color-swap variant of the Spriggan enemy. In order to calc the size of Megaflare's explosion, I will first need to calc the Boundfat's size.

Here we see that the camera is a tad skewed, however the Boundfat on the top, and Yuffie Kisaragi (the character in the middle), are on the same level and thus can be used for size comparison. According to the Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Omega, Yuffie's size comes in to a total of 5'2", or 160cm.

The Boundfat here is seen to be exactly three quarters of Yuffie's height, which would make it 120cm tall, or 3'9". That gives us a size we can then use to calculate the Megaflare's explosion.

The following two images will show the Megaflare, before and after it hits the Boundfats:

The Boundfat is clearly obscured in the second image, but thankfully we have the before-and-after to use. I will simply overlay the images and calculate the blast radius from there.

With Boundfat overlayed on the image, the red line indicates his size, 120cm. I will then take that red line and use it to measure the diameter of the Megaflare.

The diameter of the Megaflare is 1680cm long, which makes the radius 840cm, or 8.4 meters.

Calculation

The formula I'm going to use for this calc is this:

W = R^3*((27136*P+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2

W is the yield in tons in TNT, R is the radius in meters, P is the shockwave pressure in bars.

We already know the Radius, since we just went through all that trouble finding it:

R = 8.4 meters

All we really need to calculate now would be P, the shockwave pressure. Thankfully I don't need to find this one myself, since the standard amount used for all calcs is 1.37895 bars or 20 psi.

P = 1.37895 bars

With those done, I can finish the calculation and see how strong Megaflare is.

W = 8.4^3*((27136*1.37895+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2

W = 0.0476 tons

0.0476 tons = Room level+ (9-A)
