Context

In the first My Hero Academia movie: Two Heroes, Bakugo manages to completely destroy a large steel cube using his explosion. Today I will be calculating this.

Calc

Volume of One Cube: 1676.67667 cubic metres or 1676676670 ccm

I may as well explain why this is pulverisation instead of incineration. See Bakugo's explosions come from his nitroglycerin sweat. Nitroglycerin explosions have the heat of 218 °C which is much less than the 1540°C needed to even melt steel. Since the steel cube was turned to ash then it makes sense that it was pulverised.

Anyway, I was suggested to multiply the toughness of steel (87.5 J/ccm) by 1000. Which comes out to 87500 J/ccm.

Pulverisation of one cube: 1676676670 * 87500 = 146709208625000 Joules or 8.380578968831914462e-9 Kilotons

He destroyed 7 of them so multiply that by 7 and we get: 1026964460375000 Joules or 245.4503968391491355 Kilotons
