Introduction
The name Balrog is used for multiple fictional characters across different works. One of the most well-known uses comes from J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendarium, where a Balrog is a powerful demonic being of shadow and flame. Another prominent usage is in the Street Fighter series, where Balrog refers to a boxer character known for his brute strength. Because the name has appeared in various unrelated franchises, it is associated with very different types of characters depending on the source material.
