Biological Manipulation
From The Codex

Background
Biological Manipulation is the ability to manipulate organic beings and matter on a biological level. This encompasses control over cellular structures, genetic material, bodily functions, and entire organisms. Users of this power can influence the form, function, and health of living beings, from subtle enhancements to complete restructuring. It may also confer immunity to disease, enable rapid healing, or allow for mutation and evolution.
Biological Manipulation is often associated with high adaptability, and depending on the user's finesse, can be used for both medical and combative purposes. It can manifest through direct contact, remote control, or even microscopic influence over biological systems.
Also Called
- Organic Manipulation
- Lifeform Manipulation
- Biomanipulation
Possible Applications
- Body Control: Directly controlling or influencing the bodies of others.
- Shapeshifting: Morphing one’s body or others by altering muscle, bone, or genetic layout.
- Genetic Alteration: Rewriting DNA sequences to induce changes such as increased strength, resistance, or new traits.
- Cellular Control: Accelerating or halting cell growth, useful in healing or causing deterioration.
- Disease Manipulation: Creating, nullifying, or controlling bacteria, viruses, or plagues.
- Adaptation: Granting oneself or others rapid adaptation to environments, toxins, or injuries.
- Regeneration: Healing wounds by rapidly repairing damaged tissue or limbs.
- Biological Fusion: Combining two or more organisms into a single new form.
- Mind-Body Manipulation: Altering hormonal levels or nervous system responses to influence behavior or perception.
- Creating Organic Constructs: Generating living organisms or biomass-based structures.
- Poison/Antidote Creation: Manipulating bodily chemistry to generate poisons or their cures.
Practical Uses
- Heal oneself or allies by repairing tissue damage at a cellular level.
- Induce paralysis, sleep, or hallucinations by altering neural chemistry.
- Transform enemies into weaker forms or deform their physical capabilities.
- Grant immunity to toxins or evolve to survive in new environments.
- Create armies of mutated or bio-engineered creatures.
- Develop new medicines, treatments, or biological tools.
Variations
- Microscopic Biological Manipulation: Focused on internal, cellular, or molecular processes.
- Macroscopic Biological Manipulation: Affecting full organisms or large-scale organic matter.
- External vs Internal Manipulation: Some users manipulate their own biology, while others can externally affect others.
Possible Limitations
- Complexity: Precise manipulation of biology often requires deep understanding of anatomy or genetics.
- Energy Drain: Drastic changes to living tissue can be taxing, potentially exhausting the user.
- Moral/Instinctual Interference: Changing living beings may have ethical implications or trigger unexpected survival responses.
- Time Constraints: Some changes, especially those at the genetic level, may take time to manifest.
