Cthulhu

From The Codex
Jump to navigationJump to search

Introduction

The name Cthulhu originates from the works of H.P. Lovecraft, where it refers to a powerful cosmic entity that slumbers beneath the sea in the sunken city of R'lyeh. Over the years, the name has come to represent not just the original entity but also the eldritch horror mythos. Across different media, Cthulhu appears in various interpretations, often as a monstrous deity or an ancient evil, each drawing upon the terrifying mystery and otherworldly nature of the original mythos or takes different forms depending on the writer.
