Rip Van Winkle's gun, can circle around and tag a SR-71 reconnaissance jet, that was nosediving at full speed, which is noted to move faster then mach 3. Time to see how fast the bullet itself is.
Calculation
The SR-71 Jet is noted to be 32.73 meters long.
The objects went across the ship at least 4 times, so 32.73m * 4 = 130.92m
Dividing 32.74 by mach 3 to get the time frame.
t = d/s
t = 32.74m / 1029m/s
t = 0.0318172983479106s
Now that we have the time frame, we know the bullet circled around the ship in this amount of time.
s = d/t
s = 130.92m/0.0318172983479106s
s = 4114.7428222357962599543 m/s or Mach 11.996334758704946921
