Introduction

So in Metroid Blast, an attraction in the amazing Nintendo Land, you fight Kraid. And upon his death, he explodes. We know what time it is.

The Calculation

Making our Final Equation

So we don't have an official height for Ridley, other than he's really big (And I'm not using the GiverOfThePeace calculation for his height). So we'll just compare Kraid to the player.

In the shot below, we get a solid reference of the player next to Kraid's weak point in the game. Assuming a height of 1.758 meters, making Kraid's weak point 3.8040499871 meters.

Now using that to get a reference for the diameter for his waist, we get a waist size of 14.1232546149 meters.

Finally, we can use that as our reference for the explosion diameter. Given the explosion takes up the whole screen, we'll just use the entire screen as our diameter reference, which equals 80.0108528101 meters.

And given this explosion doesn't really have a base to its origin and is moreso a full-on sphere, we'll use the air formula.

Final Equation

((0.0800108528101/0.28)^3)/1000/2 = 11.66655 tons of TNT. That's just slightly above baseline City Block level (8-B).
