Introduction
Eggman makes an announcement and blows a hole in the moon. I am aware this was calculated on vsbw and got a fairly high result, but due to Kinetic Energy [ not being allowed for this feat], I'm calculating the explosion that caused the moon fragments to disperse.
The Calculation
Building our Final Equation
According to good ol' Nasa, the moon is 3476 Kilometers in diameter, or 3476000 meters.
The explosion's diameter when compared to the moon is about 3110768.11594 meters across.
Because the laser made contact with the surface of the moon, we'll be using the ground formula for this explosion.
Our final equation is 1555384.05797^3*((27136*1.37895+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2 = 3.024116e+14 Tons of TNT, or 302.41159999999996444 Teratons of TNT, which is Country level+.
