Background

Light Manipulation is the ability to manipulate light. With this ability, it is possible to create, form and manipulate visible light, commonly referred to simply as light, the electromagnetic radiation visible to the human eye and responsible for the sense of sight. The main properties of visible light are intensity, the direction of propagation, frequency or wavelength spectrum, and polarization, while its velocity in a vacuum (299,792,458 meters per second) is one of the fundamental constants of nature. Visible light, as with all types of electromagnetic radiation, has been experimentally known to always move at this speed in a vacuum. Like all types of Electromagnetic radiation, visible light is emitted and absorbed into tiny "packets" called photons and exhibits the properties of waves and particles. This property is called the wave-particle duality. The study of light, known as optics, is an important field of research in modern physics.

  • Photokinetic Constructs, including weapons, armor, walls or allies/servants.
• Move at light-speed.

Limitations

• May not be able to create light, being limited to manipulating only from existing sources.
• Distance, mass of energy, accuracy, etc. depend on the knowledge, skills and strength of the user.
• The light of the users is affected by all that is all light, unless they are powerful enough / competent to overcome these limitations:
  • Light bounces back by a reflective surface.
  • Gravity Manipulation bends light as a result of the gravitational lensing effect in General Relativity.
  • No matter how powerful the light is it will pass through anything completely transparent.
• May be overwhelmed by Darkness Manipulation.
• Since light is a constant existing element, the user will have to control all light constructions to prevent them from lasting indefinitely.

Notes

Having the ability to control light doesn't mean the user speed is Speed of Light in any way, this is a common misconception when dealing with this ability.
