Background

Mimicry is the power to replicate the powers, skills, and properties of other beings, objects, matter, and/or energies. The user can copy/replicate the one of the various different attributes of various things, whether it be gaining the powers/abilities, replicating the technique of a user, replicating their battle tactics, replicating their mundane actions, such as cooking, singing, etcetera.

Applications

  • Power Mimicry: The ability to copy the powers and abilities of others through various mechanisms. The methods used to copy them and their limitations, such as those limited to a certain type of power, vary depending on the character, but they usually have to see the power in action before they can copy it. The user's copied abilities may be inferior to the original or may only be retained for a short time, but others may actually better those powers.
  • Technique Mimicry: The ability to copy the techniques, fighting styles, and battle strategies from others through various mechanisms. The most popular example normally comes from battle Shonen where the character can perfectly copy a fighting technique after seeing it once. The user's copied techniques may be inferior to the original or may only be retained for a short time, but others may actually better those techniques.
  • Skill Mimicry: The ability to copy the various different skills from others through various mechanisms. These skills can very from cooking, singing, writing, intelligence, and much more. The user's copied skills may be inferior to the original or may only be retained for a short time, but others may actually better those skills.
  • Stat Mimicry: The ability to copy the various statistics from others through various mechanisms. This can make the user as fast as the opponent, as strong as the opponent, having the same range as an opponent, etcetera. Higher potency users can stack the users stat mimicry on top of their own stats.
  • Physiology Mimicry: The ability to copy the physiology from others through various mechanisms. These users gain every ability the character holds, with more potent users gaining the characters innate abilities and even their protections. The user's copied physiology may be inferior to the original or may only be retained for a short time, but others may actually better those of the original physiology.

Limitations

Even though they may copy the capabilities of various things, they may not be able to copy all of its potency/
