Background
Poison is a toxic substance capable of causing great harm to organisms, usually bringing about its effects after consumption. Those who can manipulate, command and/or create poisons such as toxins, venom and the like are users of the ability dubbed Poison Manipulation. Fiction grants a much more flexible view as to what constitutes as poison than reality does, however, but it’s safe to assume that if a substance or ailment is treated as poison, then those who can manipulate it or use it for combat can be deemed manipulators of it. A common depiction of poison can be dark clouds, usually of purple or crimson colouring, or an ailment commonly found in JRPGs in which numerous bursts of small damage is dealt over the period of the infection.
Due to their nature, poisons can be capable of ignoring durability.
Limitations
- Some organisms/characters can be built up a resistance to certain poisons, or even naturally possess such a resistance.
- Healing items, magic and the like are usually seen as a cure for being poisoned.
- Some users may be poisonous themselves, but in a way that they must consume to take effect, meaning sacrifice to achieve victory.
- Some users may not be resistant to their own poisons.
