Background
Resistance Manipulation is the ability to manipulate resistances. As a person's resistance is an ability to reduce the or completely suppress effectiveness of an ability, a user of this power can completely manipulate the persons resistances to weaken, strengthen, or completely negate it. In some cases, the user could even completely manipulate an immunity, for example, a character with a powerful enough potency can affect someone with Soul Manipulation even if the person has no soul.
Capabilities
Resistance Modification
This ability modifies one's resistance and turns it into a weakness or vice versa. For example, if one has a natural innate resistance to soul manipulation one could modify it to make soul manipulation of weakness of theirs, in most cases instantly one-shotting the opponent, or in more potent cases, killing the opponent at the spot as them having a soul in itself is a massive weakness for them. As said, this can be used for vice versa and make someone naturally weak to soul manipulation gain resistance to it.

Resistance Negation
This ability gets rid of the opponent's crutch of being resistant to certain abilities. For example, say the opponent resists existence erasure. This ability would remove said resistance and allow the attacker to use another move to erase the opponent from existence. These often stack and the highest level can completely negate immunities.
Users
Resistance Bypassing
The ability to bypass an opponent's resistance to abilities. This ability is similar to Resistance Negation, however, it does not have a person remove or nullify the opponent's resistance, just bypass it or ignore it. Normally resistance bypassing is due to an opponent's ability being stronger than what one can resist. A common example can be someone resistant to a specific level of ice, say -32 degrees Celcius, however, another user can freeze them due to having -55 degrees Celcius. This would be bypassing a resistance as they are not negating it, they have a more potent version of the ability. Do note however the ability does not need to be stronger to be resistance bypassing. Affecting a character with an ability they normally resist would be enough to be resistance bypassing.
Possible Applications
- Immortality Bypassing: The user can overcome another user's immortality to kill them for good. Unlike Immortality Negation, this ability does not remove the user's immortality, as they still have it, but the user in question was able to ignore their immortality completely to kill them.
- Regeneration Bypassing: The user can overcome another users regeneration. Unlike Immortality Negation, this ability does not remove the user's regeneration, as they still have it, but the user in question was able to ignore their regeneration completely to kill them. For example, say someone has cut off the user's arm, they will be able to regenerate their arm back, showing they still can regenerate, however, their arm will still not function due to the person ignoring their regeneration as a whole.
- Acausality Bypassing: The user can overcome ones acausality. Making it that despite them existing in a state outside of causality, they still attack them as if they were in regular causality. This doesn't negate the opponent's acausality as they are still outside of cause and effect, but the user in question simply ignores it.
- [[Paradox Existence Bypassing]: The user can interact with one even though they are living paradox. This doesn't negate the opponent's physiology as they are still a paradox, but the user in question simply ignores it.
Users
Resistance Granting
The typical ability to grant resistance to someone who previously did not have one. This is normally done in fiction through a character gaining access to a legendary item, such as Link gaining the Master Sword, granting him resistance to magic.
Note
- Due to it being used incorrectly, Resistance Negation is commonly confused with Resistance Bypassing. Due to this, many communities believe a character nullifies resistances rather than just bypasses them. For someone to nullify a resistance, it would need to be noted, otherwise, they are overpowering the resistance, which would be bypassing or ignoring it rather than removing it.
