Electricity Manipulation

Background

Electricity Manipulation is the ability to manipulate electricity. Users are able to alter the movement of electrons, allowing them to generate and project electricity, or conduct it into their system. Due to the sheer variety of the ability's applications, some characters may only have the ability to discharge surges of electricity or control lightning, whereas higher tier characters may be able to affect the very fundamental electrons of matter itself.

Variations

Electricity Surge:

• This is the most common form of electricity manipulation seen in fiction. Characters with this application can manipulate and fire projectiles of electrical attacks at enemies. This application's potency depends on the voltage and surging capabilities.
  • Examples: Elec Man, Pikachu, and Watt (Paper Mario)

Electricity Conducting:

• This variation allows the user to conduct electricity in their system and either redirect it, absorb it as energy, or amplify their power. This also allows the users to gain a certain immunity to electrical attacks.
  • Users: Yellow Pikmin, Garnet, and Ness

Electromagnetism:

• Electromagnetism is one of the four fundamental aspects of the universe, and is the parent ability to electricity manipulation. A more in-depth explanation of the applications can be found on the Electromagnetism Manipulation page.
  • Users: Surge the Tenrec, Wood Man, and Magneto

Bioelectricity:

• This particular application is the manipulation and control over the electrical discharge produced by the body between the nervous system and cells. Being a sister ability to Biological Manipulation, this application allows a vast control over the life systems of living beings.
  • Users: Hit-Girl (Movie)

Lightning redirection:

• This sub-ability specializes in the manipulation of natural lightning, which comes from nimbus clouds. Lightning is innately more chaotic and quick in comparison to modern electrical currents.
  • Users: Mii (Miitopia) and Link

Limitations

• In reality, high-amplitude electricity can cause nerve atrophy, paralysis, and also affect the functions of organs such as the heart and brain and ignore the durability of characters with sufficient conductivity. However, since electricity almost never acts in this way in fiction, this reaction does not apply to electrical attacks that do not have a definite amplitude or have demonstrated these powers.
• Although versatile and powerful, electricity is not flawless and can be isolated by non-conductive materials such as rubber.
• Due to the irregular nature of electricity, it may be difficult for a character to properly channel into a given direction.
