  • Stun Rod: The Stun Rod is an taser like melee weapon that is cable of shocking someone with one million and a half volts of electricity. This allows for Big Boss to take down soldiers non-lethally, with its small size allowing it to be viable as a CQC weapon.
  • Mk. 22 Mod.0 Hush Puppy: The Mk. 22 is a suppressor-equipped pistol modified to be used as a tranquiller gun. It uses a slide-lock mechanism for added noise suppression at the cost of the gun having to be loaded each time it's fired. The tranquiller darts used by the Mk. 22 are able to put someone to sleep in less then a minute after being hit, and can even instantly put someone to sleep if shot in the head. The Mk. 22's suppressor can't be used forever, as it will break after being used for sometime and will have to be replaced.
  • M16A1: The M16A1 is a American-made assault rifle that uses 5.56x45mm rounds, giving it a low recoil and making it fairly accurate at the cost of its lower stopping power. The M16M1 is able to be fitted with a suppressor and a laser sight, along with having shotgun, grenade launcher, and smoke grenade launcher variants.
  • Fragmentation Grenade: Fragmentation grenades are throwable explosives that are able heavily damage or kill one's target. Once the grenade explodes, it will propel scrap metal in all directions, furthering its lethality.
  • Combat Knife: The combat knife is a small blade used for stabbing and slashing at opponents. Its size allows for it to be an effective CQC weapon, where it is usually used to pressure an enemy rather than kill them.
  • WU Silent Pistol: The WU Silent Pistol is a pistol equipped with a built-in suppressor that fires tranquiller rounds. Similar to Mk. 22, its rounds will put someone to sleep in less then a minute after being hit and will instantly put someone to sleep if shot in the head. Along with this WU Silent Pistol also has to be reloaded every time the gun is fired. The WU Silent Pistol produces little gas and recoil, allowing for steady aim along with its suppressor being able to be used indefinitely. Due to the gun's low muzzle velocity, it has a limited range compared to most firearms.
  • AM MRS-4 Rifle: The AM MRS-4 Rifle, also known as, Arms Material Multi-purpose Rifle System model 4, is an American assault rifle equipped with a scope, flashlight, and suppressor. Its suppressor allows it to be used for stealth missions, though it will quickly break after being fired enough times.
  • Flare Grenade: The Flare Grenade, also known as the Type 66 Flare Grenade, is a signal flare grenade used to direct support helicopters to the location it was thrown at.

  • Revival Pill: The Revival Pill is a pill put into one of Big Boss' teeth in preparation for the Virtuous Mission. It allows him to come back to life after using the Fake Death Pill by canceling out the effects of the potassium cyanide contained within the Fake Death Pill.
  • Cigar: A cigar is a tobacco based product using for smoking. Big Boss is so addicted to cigars that he slowly loses LIFE as he smokes them and will even bring them into missions. Despite this they have a few uses, such as providing a small source of light and being able to be used to burn off any leeches that try to attach to his body.
  • Radio: A radio is a type of portable technology used for long distance communication through the transmission of radio waves. The radio allows for Big Boss to gain intel about aspects of his mission, such as information about his weapons or about his opponents. In both the Virtuous Mission and Operation Snake Eater, Big Boss was able to save his progress through the use of his radio by calling channel 140.96.
  • Ration: Rations are a recovery item that automatically restores LIFE when Big Boss' health reaches zero when equipped. They are made to last long, allowing them to be eaten anytime without spoiling.
  • Binoculars: Binoculars are a pair of two refracting telescopes joined together to be used to allow the user to see distance objects or people from afar.
  • Surround Indicator: The Surround Indicator is a radar that displays waves in a circular view. The waves are displayed as shades of color proportional to the proximity, position, and activity of an enemy and fluctuate depending on how close an enemy is nearby. Further upgrades of the Surround Indicator allow it to directly show enemy positions.
  • Fulton Recovery System: The Fulton Recovery System, also known as the Fulton Surface-to-Air Recovery System, is a self inflating balloon that is attached to the user or target. Once the balloon inflates, it quickly propels whatever it is attached to into the sky, where the Fulton and its cargo are then picked up by a MSF helicopter. Big Boss would use the Fulton Recovery System as an unorthodox way of disposing knocked out soldiers, where MSF would then try to recruit them once they come to. Big Boss can use the Fulton Recovery System on himself to quickly leave a mission area once his objective is complete.
  • Love Box: The Love Box is a pink cardboard box that can be used to hide in during stealth missions. It's cable of fitting two people within it and is needed for Big boss to conclude the dating Extra-Ops.
  • iDROID: The iDROID is a handheld device that's primary function is to display a holographic map of an area while also being able to be used to call in a helicopter for support. The iDROID also displays mission information to Big Boss.
  • Int-Scope: The Int-Scope is a pair of binoculars used by Big Boss during his infiltration of Camp Omega. The Int-Scope allows Big Boss to mark his enemies, allowing him to see them through walls and see them on his map.

    • Night-Vison Goggles: Night-vision goggles are a type of goggles that allow one to see in the dark by amplifying light and displaying it as images. Night-vision goggles also highlight interactable objects or people in green, making them easier to see. Due to how the goggles amplify light, if one looks into an extremely bright light source such as fire, they can be blinded by said light.
    • Flashlight: A portable device used to crate a small source of light. Big Boss used a flashlight during his infiltration of Camp Omega.
    • Walkman MP3 Player: The Walkman MP3 Player is a portable audio player developed by Sony. It allows Big Boss to listen to any cassette tapes he finds on his missions.
    • Empty Gun Magazines: Big Boss has an infinite supply of empty gun magazines, which he can use to distract enemies by throwing them to lure enemies away.
    • Med Spray: The Med Spray is medical spray that is able to heal serious wounds sustained by Big Boss. Big Boss used the Med Spray during his infiltration of Camp Omega.

  • Jungle Fatigues: Jungle Fatigues are Olive Drag fatigues worn by Big Boss and MSF soldiers. Jungle Fatigues are olive green in color and provide provide a basic level of defense, weapon storage, ammo storage, and camouflage.
  • FOX Sneaking Suit: A Sneaking Suit branded with the FOX logo. It's a special suit made for sneaking in many environments and silences one's footsteps when wearing it. The Sneaking Suit is able to speed up LIFE recovery and allows one to climb up rocks during rainy conditions but isn't able to carry as much weapons and ammo as fatigues allow one to do.

  • EZ GUN LIFE Recovery Variant: A variant of the EZ GUN that fires LIFE recovery rounds, allowing Big Boss to heal others when firing it at them.
  • EZ GUN PYSCHE Recovery Variant: A variant of the EZ GUN that fires PYSCHE recovery rounds, allowing Big Boss to restore the PYSCHE of others when firing it at them.
  • C96: The C96 is a semi-automatic pistol that can be upgraded to a fully-automatic pistol at the cost of decreased accuracy and an increase in muzzle climb. A fully-automatic C96 can be even further upgraded to have a larger ammo capacity at the cost of even more muzzle climb. It's similar in appearance and function to EVA's Chinese imitation Type 17 Mauser.
  • K. Pistol: The K. Pistol, also known as the Walther Kampfpistole Z, is German handheld compact grenade launcher. Its ammo is able to damage and take down tanks and the gun itself can be equipped with a rifle stock for better accuracy.
  • M19: The M19, also known as the Smith and Wesson Model 19 is a .357 Magnum revolver. It can be upgraded to have a longer barrel for less recoil and further upgraded to have a laser sight. Its high stopping power allows it to send armored soldiers back with immense force.
  • M1911A1: The M1911A1 is a semi-automatic pistol that fires .45 caliber rounds, giving it a high stopping power. It has been used ever since the second world war and can be upgraded to have a suppressor equipped to it, though it will break overtime when the gun is fired.
    • M1911A1 Custom: The M1911A1 Custom is a improved variant of the M1911A1. The customizations include the M1911A1's feeding ramp being polished to a mirror sheen, preventing feeding problems, the slide being replaced with a reinforced slide that meshes perfectly with the frame, the frame being iron-welded and scarped down for maximum precision, the frame's front part being checkered to improve grip, an original three dot sight system for better target sighting, the gun hammer being replaced with a ring hammer for better cocking control and faster hammer down speed, with the grip safety being reworked to accommodate for the ring hammer, the thumb safety and slide stop being extended for more precise handling, the base of the trigger guard being whittled down, allowing for the use of a high grip, the trigger being replaced with a long-type trigger for easy finger access and lighter trigger pull, a widened magazine well for easier magazine placement, the magazine catch button has been lower to prevent hitting it by mistake, the mainspring housing being changed to a flat type for increased grip, which was also fitted with stepping so it doesn't slip from the gun's recoil, and added cocking serrations to the front part of the slide for faster cartridge loading. The M1911A1 Custom can be fitted to have a suppressor equipped to it, though it will break overtime when the gun is fired.
  • PB/6P9: The PB/6P9 semi-automatic and medium-caliber pistol. It can be fitted with a suppressor that doesn't run out of durability.
  • PM: The PM, also known as the Makarov pistol, is a Russian semi-automatic and medium-caliber pistol. It uses 9x18mm ammunition, which combined with its semi-automatic rate of fire results in less recoil.
  • Support Supply Marker Rank 3: Support Supply Marker Rank 3 is a handgun variant of the Support Supply Marker. It allows for the user to fire out support rounds that allow for the user to request supplies such as ammo and rations. It takes up a weapon slot but can be further upgraded to have more ammo, allowing for more supplies to be called for.
  • Support Strike Marker Rank 3: Support Strike Marker Rank 3 is a handgun variant of the Support Strike Marker. It allows for the user to fire out support rounds that allow for the user to request strikes on enemies. It takes up a weapon slot but can be further upgraded to have more ammo, allowing for strikes to be called for.
  • CAW: The CAW, also known as the Heckler & Koch HK CAWS, is a German twelve gauge shotgun that fires Flechettes rounds. It possess immense firepower and a decent rate of fire and magazine capacity for a shotgun.
  • M37: The M37, also known as the Ithaca 37, is an American pump action shotgun. It's great for close-range gun fights. The M37 can be fully upgraded to be equipped with a suppressor, though it will break overtime when the gun is fired.
    • ACM Variant: A M37 Variant equipped with a scope, a choke, and a longer barrel for better power and aim at longer ranges. It fires shotgun slugs instead of buckshot rounds.
  • SPAS-12: The SPAS-12, also known as the Franchi Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun, is an Italian selective-fire shotgun. It can fire in both a semi-automatic mode or a pump-action mode, the latter of which being less lethal. It's great at close to medium-range fire fights and is useful for taking on groups of soldiers.
  • Twin Barrel: A double barrel shotgun that can be upgraded to have a sawed off barrel at the cost of extra recoil. Later upgrades allow for the reduction of reload time, recoil, and weight.
    • Rubber Slug Variant: A non-lethal variant of the Twin Barrel that fires rubber slugs instead of twelve gauge rounds. Its reload time can be decreased with further upgrades and is effective at longer ranges than its lethal variant.
  • ADM-63: The ADM-63 is a Hungarian variant of the AKM rifle. It uses heavier ammunition and has a high recoil, though a foregrip can be added to it to prevent some of the recoil.
  • ADM-65: The ADM65 is a carbine version of the ADM-63 that is able to match the firepower of light machine guns with less weight and better handling at the cost of lower magazine capacity.

It's similar in appearance to the XM177E2 and M4 carbine, all of which belong to the CAR-15 family of rifles. Like the M16A1, it has a few variations.

It has a decent firepower and magazine capacity and can be given a drum magazine through MSF's research and development team.
  • SUG: The SUG, also known as both the AUG and the Steyr AUG is an Austrian bullpup 5.56mm assault rifle. It has foregrip and bullpup configuration and is one of the more precise assaults rifles MSF has to offer. The SUG would become the standard issue weapon for Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land soldiers during the 1980s-90s.
  • The Patriot: The Patriot was originally a American custom made machine gun created for The Boss. It's similar to the XM16E1 but has the barrel cut short and the stock taken off. The idea when creating the Patriot was to create a large pistol that had the handling and feel of a handgun but also had the power of a rifle. The Patriot's internal feed mechanism is shaped like an infinity symbol, giving it infinite ammo. Due to its size, the Patriot has insanely high recoil. Big Boss would be given the weapon by The Boss herself as a parting gift before Big Boss was forced to kill her. MSF would later recreate The Patriot for private army use.
  • MAC-10: The MAC-10, also known as both the Ingram MAC-10 and the M10, is an American submachine gun that is cable of firing over one thousand rounds per minute. This gives the MAC-10 immense firepower at close-range but also immense recoil. MSF's research and development team allows for the MAC-10 to be equipped with a suppressor, though it will break overtime when the gun is fired.
    • Barrel Jacket Variant: A barrel jacket version of the MAC-10 that allows for greater accuracy when firing.
  • MP5A2: The MP5A2, also known as the MP5, the Heckler & Koch MP5, and the Maschinenpistole 5 (Which translates to "Machine pistol model 5"), is a German submachine gun that fires 9mm proprietary pistol ammo. The MP5A2 is an all around effective submachine gun, which can be upgraded to have a suppressor, though it will break overtime when the gun is fired.
  • MP5SD2: The MP5SD2 is a variant of the MP5A2 submachine gun that includes a suppressor that doesn't wear off. FOXHOUND would late use the MP5SD2 as its standard submachine gun in the 1990s.
  • M1928A1: The M1928A1, more famously known as the Tommy Gun and also known as the Thompson submachine gun and the Chicago Typewriter is an American submachine gun. Its size makes it so that Big Boss can't use it while using the ballistic shield unlike other submachine guns. It has a high firepower and low recoil.
  • UZ61: The UZ61, also known as the Šcorpion vz. 61 is a Czechoslovakian submachine gun that uses .32ACP ammo. Unlike other submachine guns, it uses a closed bolt system that allows for high precision when firing on semi-automatic mode. The UZ61 also has a rate reducer and a shock absorption mechanism, which functions by locking the bolt in place for a spilt second when it's in the rearward position, keeping the UZ61's firing rate down to reasonable level, allowing for easier control on fully-automatic firing mode. It has a fire rate of 750 rounds per minute and can be equipped with a laser sight.
  • Mosin Nagant: The M1891/30 Mosin Nagant is a Russian bolt-action sniper rifle. They are created by selecting the best-made weapons from the M1891/30 rifle production line and upgrading them to sniper rifles. The rifles are given an optic sight, given a lighter trigger, and have charging handle bent underneath to make them sniper rifles. The Mosin Nagant used by Big Boss is a modified rifle originally used by The End that shoots tranquiller rounds. Big Boss gained the rifle after he defeated The End. In 1974, MSF would develop Mosin Nagants that could be equipped with suppressors for Big Boss to use. Due to being a bolt-action rifle, the Mosin Nagant must he reloaded every time it is fired. Along with this the suppressor used for the Mosin Nagant will break overtime when the gun is fired.
  • M1C: The M1C is an American sniper rifle that serves as a modified M1 Garand. It keeps the semi-automatic rifle rate of the M1 Garand while also adding an optic scope for better target sighting. The M1C can be upgraded for a faster firing rate and damage.
    • PSYCHE Recovery Variant: A variant of the M1C that allows Big Boss to restore the PYSCHE of others when firing it at them.
  • M21: The M21 is an American semi-automatic sniper rifle adapted from the fully-automatic and high recoil M14 battle rifle. It maintains superior penetration power to the M14 along with holding more capacity, being able to be fired rapidly, and is highly accurate. It can be upgraded to be equipped with a suppressor, though the suppressor will break overtime when the gun is fired.
  • M700: The M700, also known as the Remington 700, is an American bolt-action hunting rifle. It has various higher and lower caliber variations and holds up to four rounds. Its speed is impeded by its bolt-action capabilities but it has a high stopping power, making it useful for sniper duels.

  • PTRD1941: The PTRD1941 is a high caliber Soviet anti-tank rifle. It holds only one round and leaves the user immobile when reloading it.

  • Railgun: The Railgun is large gun that uses electromagnets to propel bullets instead of the expanding gas and mechanical action used by other guns. The kinetic energy of its projectiles can reach up to ten megajoules and can be further powered up by the Railgun Dynamo.
  • SVD: The SVD, also known as the Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragona (Which translates to "Dragunov semi-automatic sniper rifle"), is the official Soviet semi-automatic sniper rifle. It uses both 7.62x54mm sniper rounds and a type of ammo that has a steel core, making them two and a half times more precise than a regular rifle bullet.
    • Night-Vison Variant: A night-vison scope variant of the SVD that allows for sniping in the dark.
  • Stealth Gun: The Stealth Gun is a non-lethal gun that makes its target nearly invisible. It's useful for group sneaking missions where the user can make their team completely invisible, making sneaking way easier.
  • WA2000: The WA2000, also known as the Walther WA 2000, is a German semi-automatic sniper rifle that can fire 7.62x51mm bullets. It is an extremely rare gun, with only thousands being produced due to its high production price. Its armor piercing rounds make it viable for sniping armored soldiers. While its scope makes its aiming slower, it's very accurate and has little rifle sway.
  • M60: The M60, also known as the M60 General Purpose Machine Gun is an American belt-fed light machine gun. It features a high stopping power and high bullet capacity, making it useful for for fighting numerous heavy targets. The M60 reduces the users movement due to its weight while also having a high recoil and low fire rate. The M60 can be upgraded to be smaller, reducing weight while making the user's mobility and handling better.
  • M63A1: The M63A1, also known as the Stoner 63, the XM22, the XM23, the XM207, and the Mk 23 Mod 0 machine gun, is an American lightweight machine gun. It's a very small machine gun that allows for easy handling that also uses armor piercing rounds, making it useful for battling armored vehicles. The M63A1 is fully-automatic and has a high capacity, making it a very useful machine gun.
  • PKM: The PKM, also known as the PK/PKM Machine Gun, is a Soviet light machine gun that can be used for anti-aircraft roles. Its similar to the M60 but doesn't use armor piercing rounds. Each upgrade of the PKM increases bullet capacity.
  • MG3: the MG3, also known as the Rheinmetall MG 3 is a powerful German machine gun. It is a modified World War II era MG42 that possesses an extremely high fire rate and has to be fired in bursts due to the immense recoil. It's very useful against heavy targets such as tanks and the AI weapons.
  • EM Wave Gun: The EM Wave Gun, also known as both the Electromagnetic Wave Gun and the EMW Gun, is a large weapon that fires multiple types of electromagnetic waves into one concentrated spot, which, when connected with the beam of another EM Wave Gun, will create a powerful burst of energy.
  • M134: The M134, also known as both the M134 Gatling Gun and the Minigun, is American multi-barrel machine gun. It has very good firepower and a very good rate of fire but it's extremely heavy and greatly limits the user's mobility. This makes the M134 only useful for providing heavy suppressing fire as support for another solider.

  • LAW: The LAW (Lightweight Anti-Tank Weapon), also known as both the M72A3 and the M72 LAW, is a American shoulder-launched rocket launcher. It is very light, it doesn't use homing missiles, and it is one of the weaker rocket launchers. The LAW makes up for this by being easier to handle than most rocket launchers and being able to be upgraded to be as powerful as a RPG-7.
  • M202A1: The M202A1, also known as the M202A1 FLASH (Flame Assault Shoulder Weapon), is American multi-shot rocket launcher. It holds four rockets at a time, each by themselves being weaker than the LAW, but are more powerful when fired together. When using the M202A1, Big Boss is only able to carry eight rockets at a time, making it useful for quick and immense explosive damage rather than for taking on armored vehicles.
  • M47: The M47, also known as the M47 Dragon (developmental designation FGM-77), is an American shoulder-launched rocket launcher. The M47 uses the man-portable anti-tank missile system known as the "Dragon", allowing it to lock onto targets. The M47 is extremely powerful rocket launcher, with the drawbacks of a quick lock-on time and Big Boss only being able to carry three missiles when using it, making it difficult to use against high-speed targets but it's very powerful against the AI weapons, being able to destroy the Pupa in a few hits.
  • RPG-2: The RPG-2 is a Soviet shoulder-launched rocket launcher. It is the first rocket-propelled grenade developed in the Soviet Union. It is an unguided and reloadable missile weapon inspired by the German anti-tank grenade launch tube from World War II known as the Panzerfaust.
  • RPG-7: The RPG-7 is a Soviet shoulder-launched rocket launcher created as a successor to the RPG-2. It is an scoped, unguided, and reloadable missile weapon that is able to do heavy damage against multiple targets, large targets, and heavy targets.
  • Carl Gustav: The Carl Gustav is a Swedish rocket launcher. It is a powerful, versatile, single-shot, and reloadable rocket launcher that uses the Krupp firing system, which reduces recoil by venting air out from the back of the launcher. Its main draw back is its slow reload time.
    • Multi Purpose Variant: A variant of the Carl Gustav that fires HEAT rounds, which cover a greater radius but do less damage to the target. It's great for dealing with multiple targets compared to single, heavy targets.
    • Fulton Recovery Variant: A non-lethal variant of the Carl Gustav developed by the United States of America. It uses Fulton rounds to capture the target rather than killing them, taking them out of the battlefield through the use of a self-inflating balloon, where they are then picked up in the sky by a MSF chopper and brought to mother base.
  • FIM-43: The FIM-43, also known as the FIM-43 Redeye, is an American man-portable guided surface-to-air missile weapon. It uses infrared homing to lock onto its targets such as soldiers or tanks.
  • XFIM-92A: The XFIM-92A, also known as the FIM-92 Stinger is an American man-portable guided surface-to-air missile weapon. It's an upgraded version of the FIM-43, using the same technology to lock onto enemies. The improvements over the FIM-43 include a faster lock-on time and heavy damage inflicting missiles. Big Boss would seemingly use XFIM-92As in Zanzibar Land, as one was found and used by Solid Snake during his infiltration of the country.

  • Chaff Grenade: The Chaff Grenade is an anti-electronics weapon that scatters metal foil into the air, preventing the transmission of radio signals, at the cost of Big Boss disabling his own electronic equipment in the process. It's affective against the various AI weapons and can even to used to redirect Colonel Volgin's electricity, due to the electricity being attracted to the metal foil in the air.
  • EM Net: The EM Net is a throwable weapon that when activated, creates an net of electromagnetic energy around the target vehicle, disabling it and taking it away from the battlefield through the use of multiple self-inflating balloons, where it is then picked up by MSF choppers and brought back to mother base.

  • Smoke Grenade: The Smoke Grande is a non-lethal grenade that releases smoke through the combustion of zinc oxide, ammonium chloride, aluminum, and various other components. The grayish-white smoke produced by the grenade allows Big Boss to hide within the smoke along with temporary blinding the target, with the added bonus of the gas being hard to disperse.
    • Colored Smoke Grenade: Colored variants of the Smoke Grenade, which can produce smoke clouds in the colors red, blue, green, yellow, and black.
  • Stun Grenade: The Stun Grenade is a non-lethal grenade that releases a extremely bright flash of light to overload the senses of an enemy, knocking them out. The flash of light is produced by magnesium, which is also used to create camera flashes.
  • Support Supply Marker Rank 2: The Support Supply Marker Rank 2 is a throwable variant of the Support Supply Marker. It allows the user to call for extra supplies, such as ammo and rations, to be dropped wherever the marker is thrown.
  • Support Strike Marker Rank 2: The Support Strike Marker Rank 2 is a throwable variant of the Support Strike Marker. It allows the user to call for a strike to be placed wherever the marker is thrown.

  • Anti-Tank Mine: The Anti-Tank Mine is a type of landmine used to take out heavy targets such as tanks. The damage the mine does to the armored vehicle temporary immobilizes it, along with doing heavy damage to anyone patrolling with the vehicle.
  • Aerial Mine: The Aerial Mine is a mine that uses a self-inflating balloon to reach airborne targets, such as enemy choppers. The damage the mine does to the airborne vehicle temporary immobilizes it, along with doing heavy damage to anyone close to the vehicle.
  • C4: C4, also known as Composition 4, is an American plastic explosive that is slightly more powerful than TNT. C4 can be remotely denoted or can be denoted by being shot by gunfire.
  • Claymore: The Claymore, also known as both the M18A1 Claymore anti-personnel mine and the M18A1 Claymore, is an American anti-personal landmine that is packed with a pound and a half of explosives and is filled with seven hundred steel balls bearings that are launched in various directions when the mine is activated. The mine is activated through a motion detector built into the mine, which automatically explodes when it detects any type of movement.
  • Decoy: The Decoy, as its name suggests, is a wooden decoy in the shape of an MSF solider used for distracting enemy soldiers. The decoy can be upgraded to be more durable, allowing for it to be used as cover.
  • Fulton Mine: The Fulton Mine is a non-lethal landmine that when triggered, releases gas that when inhaled, puts the target to sleep. Once the target is asleep, the mine attaches a self-inflating balloon to them, removing them from the battlefield and taking them to the sky, where they are then picked up by an MSF chopper and brought back to mother base.
  • Magazines: A paper magazine that can distract enemy soldiers when placed on the ground. The magazine comes in the following variants:
    • MGS Magazine: The MGS Magazine is a popular monthly magazine of the Metal Gear Solid series. In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, it is known as the MSF magazine.
    • Solid Magazine: The Solid Magazine is a sci-fi/horror themed magazine that is half filled with stories written by amateur writers. Due to this, the stories aren't meant to be taken very seriously. The Solid Magazine also includes lurid and suggestive themes within its stories. In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, it is known as the Weekly Famitsu magazine.
    • Liquid Magazine: The Liquid Magazine is a mature magazine that includes travel logs from soldiers across the world and ample pinups. In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, it is known as the Dengeki PlayStation magazine.
    • Solidus Magazine: The Solidus Magazine is a quarterly-issued men's lifestyle magazine aimed at discriminatory adults. It contains articles on various topics such as the news, politics, and special interests. It also contains adult content. In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, it is known as the Dengeki Games magazine.
    • Super Magazine: The Super Magazine is a bi-monthly women's fashion magazine. Due to the models used in the magazine, it has a large male following as well. The cover of the magazine states that it's the 23rd anniversary issue of the magazine. In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, it is known as the Weekly Shōnen magazine.
  • Support Supply Marker Rank 1: The Support Supply Marker Rank 1 is the first version of the Support Supply Marker. It allows the user to call for supplies, such as ammo or rations, to be sent to wherever the marker is placed down.
  • Support Strike Marker Rank 1: The Support Strike Marker Rank 1 is the first version of the Support Strike Marker. It allows the user to call for a strike to be placed on wherever the marker is placed down.

  • Banana: A Banana is a piece of fruit that can be used to hold up enemy soldiers during hold up Extra-Ops.
  • Railgun Dynamo: The Railgun Dynamo is a device with a crank handle that is about to convert mechanical work into electrical energy. This allows the Railgun Dynamo to powerup the Railgun, giving it a far more powerful blast than it usually has.
  • Armored Vehicles: Big Boss has access to various armored vehicles due to being the leader of both a private army and military nations. In 1974, Big Boss would be able to use his choppers to extract soldiers and equipment, some of which included enemy tanks, which Big Boss would send out to battle along with other soldiers. Big Boss would also use MSF's Research and Devolvement team to develop armored vehicles for his soldiers to use. After being spotted in a U.S. military base in Nicaragua, MSF would come to Big Boss' aid with attack helicopters and battleships. In 1975, Big Boss would us a chopper to exfiltrate Camp Omega along with extracting Chico and Pacifica Ocean from the base. In 1995 and 1999, Big Boss would use various attack helicopters, various tanks, and a bulldozer to try and stop Solid Snake from infiltrating Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land, but they would be destroyed in battle.

  • Leaf: A variation of the Jungle Fatigues that is light green with brown spots, allowing for a high Camo Index in jungle environments.
  • Tiger Stripe: A variation of the Jungle Fatigues that is green with brown stripes, allowing a high Camo Index when near soil, grass, and even water.

  • Neo Moss: A variation of the Jungle Fatigues that Big Boss gained after making contact with the ghost of The End. It is similar in appearance to the camouflage worn by The End and has high Camo Index is due to its looks and scent forming a bond with nature itself.
  • Stench: A variation of the Jungle Fatigues that is a brown in color. Its smell is so bad that it can make anyone not used to it faint just from getting a quick whiff of it.
  • Battle Dress: The Battle Dress is a special combat suit with high defensive capabilities, high weapon storage, and high ammo storage. Its appearance however, gives it a terrible Camo Index.
    • Helmet Variation: A Battle Dress that comes with a bullet proof helmet, further increasing the defense of the Battle Dress.
  • Tuxedo: A black tuxedo. It's not suited for most missions and has a low Camo Index.
  • Miller: The same fatigues that Kazuhira Miller wears. Its functions are similar to that of the Jungle Fatigues, but with the added bonus of slightly faster running speed and LIFE recovery.

  • Lime Soda: Lima Soda is a carbonated soft drink that is able to recover both PYSCHE and a small amount of LIFE when used. In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Lime Soda is Mountain Dew.
  • Zero-Calorie Soda: Zero-Calorie Soda is a carbonated soft drink with zero calories. It is able to recover much of the user's PYSCHE and can recover a small amount of LIFE when consumed. In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Zero-Calorie Soda is Pepsi NEX.
  • Cologne: Cologne is a recovery item that allows for the user to recover PYSCHE when used. In the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Cologne is AXE body spray.

  • Analyzer: The Analyzer is a tool that allows the user to see a soldier's LIFE, aptitude, rank, skills, and equipment. The Analyzer can also show the statistics of enemy vehicles and can show the weak points of the AI weapons.
  • Bandana: a bandana that gives the user infinity ammo when wearing it.
  • Camera: A camera that allows for the user to take pictures. It can be used to take pictures of ghosts during Extra-Ops.
  • Box Tank: The Box Tank is a cardboard box that is able to fit two people inside of it. The Box Tank has a turret connected to it, which can be used by one of the two people within the box.
    • Stun Cannon Variant: A variant of the Box Tank that fires a non-lethal projectile that releases a large flash of light that overwhelms the enemy's senses and knocks them out.
    • Smoke Shell Variant: A variant of the Box Tank that fires smoke shells, which releases a cloud of smoke to obstruct the enemy's vison while also hiding the user.
  • Bomb Box: The Bomb Box is a cardboard box that is able to fit two people within it. When the box is picked up, it will explode, damaging both the user and the person who picked up the box.
  • Stun Box: The Stun Box is a box that is able to fit two people within it. When the box is picked up, it will releases a large flash of light that overwhelms the enemy's senses and knocks them out.
  • Smoke Box: The Smoke Box is a box that is able to fit two people within it. When the box is picked up, it will releases a cloud of smoke to obstruct the enemy's vison while also hiding the user.
  • Rescue Box: The Rescue Box is a box that is able to fit two people with it. When inside the box and not moving, it will heal the user and whoever else is inside the box.
  • Assassin's Straw Box: The Assassin's Straw Box is a bale of hay that is able to fit two people within it. The Assassin's Straw Box allows for the user to drag an enemy into the box to knock them out. It is a reference to the hay bales from the Assassin's Creed series.
  • Ballistic Shield: The Ballistic Shield is a bullet proof shield that protects the user from harm at the cost of only being able to use one-handed weapons while using it.
    • Colored Variant: A colored variant of the Ballistic Shield.
  • Sonic Eye: The Sonic Eye is a device that is able to display the sources of sound as animated circles. The more circle there are, the closer one is to a sound source. The Rank 1 Sonic Eye can only be used while lying down or while pressing against a wall but can be improved with further upgrades that allow for it to be used in any position. The upgraded versions of the Sonic Eye also have a longer battery life, with the Rank 5 Sonic Eye not running out of battery.
  • Stealth Mat: The Stealth Mat is a disposable mat that renders the user nearly invisible through the use of light refraction. The drawback to the Stealth Mat is that it can only be used when pressing against a wall or while lying down.
  • Stealth Camo: Stealth Camo is a device that that renders the user nearly invisible through the use of light refraction, maximizing the user's Camo Index in the process. The Stealth Camo lasts for three minutes and nineteen seconds before needing a recharge. If the user bumps into into an enemy or is caught in a blast of smoke or gas, the Stealth Camo will automatically deactivate.
  • Soliton Radar: The Soliton Radar is a radar that that displays an area's topography, an enemy's position, and an enemy's range of vision in real time. The Soliton Radar can run out of battery overtime but further upgrades increase the battery life, with a Rank 5 Soliton Radar having an unlimited battery life.

  • Fore Grip: A fore grip is an attachment for weapons made to increase accuracy and reduce recoil.
  • Grenade Launcher: The Grenade Launcher is an attachment for assault rifles made to fire various types of grenades, such as fragmentation grenades or smoke grenades. It is attached to the underslung of the weapon and fires a 40mm projectile in a straight path towards the target.
  • Laser sight: The Laser sight is an underslung attachment for weapons. It produces a small red laser from the weapon's underslung, allowing for more precise targeting.
  • Shotgun: The Shotgun is an attachment for non-shotgun weapons that allows them to fire twelve gauge rounds, giving the weapons more stopping power at the cost of a shorter range.
  • Suppressor: The Suppressor is an attachment that goes on the barrel of a gun. It silences the noise made when the gun is fired. Overtime, the suppressor can be damaged and will break if the gun is used too much.

  • ID Cards: ID Cards are cards that allow Big Boss to gain access to various locked areas.
    • Huey's ID Card: An ID Card given to Big Boss by Dr. Huey Emmerich. It was supposed to give Big Boss access to the Dr. Strangelove's AI lab but due to the doctor's dislike of Huey, it was disabled.
    • C Variant: An ID Card stolen from an enemy patrolmen that grants access to Dr. Strangelove's lab.
    • P Variant: An ID Card stolen from Dr. Strangelove that allows Big Boss to open any door within the prison area, including his cell. This ID Card however, can only be used once.
  • Jigsaw: The Jigsaw is a metal wire used to grind metal bars. Big Boss hid a jigsaw within a fake scar on his chest and used it to escape from the prison area.
  • Battery: A battery found within Extra-Ops 28-29 that is about to restore power to some battery powered items.
  • AM Rifle Type 69: The AM Rifle Type 69, also known as the Arms Material Rifle Type 69, is an American assault rifle used by the U.S. Marines stationed at Camp Omega. It features a longer barrel to suit the combustion properties of the ammo used by the gun. This barrel gives the AM Rifle Type 69 good range at the cost of being harder to handle in tight spaces. Big Boss can obtain the AM Rifle Type 69 from the Marines stationed at Camp Omega.
  • AM-69 AAS Rifle: The AM-69 AAS Rifle, also known as the Arms Material Type 69 Advance Assault/Support Rifle, is an American assault rifle that serves as a custom support model of the AM Rifle Type 69. It is equipped with an under-barrel grenade launcher and a rifle scope. Big Boss can obtain the AM-69 AAS Rifle at the start of the Ground Zeroes mission after getting an S Rank on it.
  • S1000 Shotgun: The S1000 Shotgun, also known as the Broughton Model 1000 Series Shotgun, is a pump-action shotgun that fires twelve gauge shells. It has a high stopping power at a close-range but isn't very useful for long-range combat. Big Boss can obtain the weapon in various areas throughout Camp Omega, such as storage shelves, armories, watch towers, and trucks.
  • M2000 Sniper D: The M2000 Sniper D, also known as the Broughton Model 2000 Sniper Rifle, Detachable-Magazine, is a high caliber sniper rifle that uses a three-step variable magnification scope. Its high caliber ammo makes it very powerful at the cost of it having a slow rate of fire due to its bolt-action capabilities. Big Boss can obtain the M2000 Sniper D from watch towers, armories, and trucks in Camp Omega or can obtain it at the start of the Ground Zeroes mission after completing it with an A Rank.
  • AM D114 Pistol: The AM D114 Pistol, also known as the Arms Material Delta-114 Combat Pistol, is the standard issue pistol of the U.S. Marines during 1975. It is a high caliber pistol that has the destructive power and stopping power of a rifle at close-range. Appearance-wise, it is a three-way hybrid between the Browning hi-power, the Colt M1911A1, and the CZ-75. Big Boss can obtain the AM D114 Pistol from Marines or from the armories and watch towers in Camp Omega.
  • Uragan-5 Pistol: The Uragan-5 Pistol, also known as BTS Instrument Design Bureau Uragan-5 Pistol, is a non-lethal pistol that fires 120-atmosphere cylinders of inert gas at targets. The high-pressured gas stuns whoever is hit by it, knocking them out. The Uragan-5 Pistol can be fired five times in rapid succession but is very loud due to its use of gas, which can't be suppressed. Big Boss can obtain the Uragan-5 Pistol from the various trucks, watch towers, and armories in Camp Omega.
  • Sz.-336 SMG: The Sz.-336 SMG, also known as the Sodomka zbrojovka Type 336 Submachine Gun, is a submachine gun that uses low caliber handgun ammo. It has an extremely high rate of fire and comes equipped with a suppressor and flashlight. However it uses up ammo fast, has a small range, and can have its suppressor break after some use. Big Boss can obtain the Sz.-336 SMG in armories and in the backs of trucks in Camp Omega or can obtain it at the start of the Ground Zeroes mission after completing it with an C Rank.
  • FB MR R-Launcher: The FB MR R-Launcher, also known as the Falkenberg Multi-Role Rocket Launcher, is a one-man portable anti-tank missile weapon. The drawbacks to the EZ GUN is its size, making it so it can only fit one round within its chamber before having to be reloaded.
    • XM16E1: The XM16E1 is an American assault rifle that serves as an modified black rifle, also known as the AR-15. The XM16E1 is fitted with a bolt forward assist along with other modifications including a camouflaged paint job, a suppressor, and a three-shot burst firing mechanism. The XM16E1's suppressor has a limited amount of durability, being able to break after some use.
    • White Phosphorus Grenade: The White Phosphorus Grenade, also known as Willy Petes, are grenades that uses white phosphorus to create an incendiary effect. White phosphorus is a white, waxy substance that combusts when it reacts to the oxygen in the air, igniting at temperatures that reach over five thousand degrees Fahrenheit, heavily burning any target caught within the explosion.
    • TNT: TNT, also known as Trinitrotoluene, is a explosive made of a pale yellow crystalline compound created from the mixture nitric acid and sulfuric acid called tri-nitrified. Its low sensitivity and chemically stable structure makes it easy to handle. Along with this, TNT has a low boiling point, allowing it to be shaped through boiling or melting. TNT is denotated through remote denotation, although the radio signal for the denotator is very weak and will only denotate TNT in the area Snake is in.
    • C3: C3, also known as Composition 3, is a type of plastic explosive made of seventy seven percent RDX and twenty three percent moldable plastic. C3 is less violent than TNT and won't be set off by a little bit of heat or shock, allowing it to be easily handled. The C3 Snake has is set up with detonators with a special timer system that makes it so that the C3 will detonate all at once the timer hits zero.
    • Survival Knife: The Survival Knife is a knife that provides the bare essentials needed to survive during missions. Snake is able to use the Survival Knife in combat and can use it to remove bullets within Snake's skin after getting hit.
    • Handkerchief: A Handkerchief soaked in a knockout drug, allowing Snake to put the enemy to sleep by grabbing them with CQC or by waving the handkerchief in front of them, although doing the latter can knock out Snake for a short time if he does it do much.
    • Cigarette Gas Spray: The Cigarette Gas Spray is a cigarette shaped gun that fires narcosis gas. The Cigarette Gas Spray is able to fire this sleeping gas at a short range, knocking out anyone who breathes it in.
    • Fork: A fork Snake can use as a weapon. It does less damage than Snake's knives but allows for Snake to automatically eat the planets and animals he attacks with it.

  • Active Sonar: The Active Sonar is a portable sonar device used for showing the location of living beings.
