Enhanced Evasiveness

From The Codex
Jump to navigationJump to search

Batman is able to avoid Darkseid's Omega Beams through his evasiveness

Background

Enhanced Evasiveness refers to an advanced level of evasion skill that surpasses the capabilities of an ordinary human. Users of this ability can precisely avoid attacks significantly faster than themselves and evade linear-based assaults with remarkable ease. Similar to Enhanced Senses, this ability enables individuals who are slower than bullets or lasers to dodge them effectively without requiring superior speed. Additionally, users excel in avoiding complex patterns of attacks, such as those in a Curtain Fire scenario, by utilizing their enhanced evasiveness. The effectiveness of Enhanced Evasiveness depends on the user's experience and their ability to perceive and respond to threats. Advanced users may demonstrate near-perfect dodging capabilities, while novice users might only show moderate improvements over standard reflexes.

Some users may also possess Precognition, allowing them to anticipate and avoid attacks with greater accuracy. At higher levels, this ability may enable users to evade even highly unpredictable or Imperceivable Attacks.

Example Applications

  • Dodge attacks faster than the user’s physical speed would typically allow.
  • Avoid linear-based attacks with exceptional precision.
  • Navigate complex attack patterns, such as curtain fire or multi-directional assaults, with ease.
  • Predict and evade attacks through Precognition.
  • Survive encounters involving unpredictable or imperceivable strikes.

Possible Limitations

  • This ability does not inherently increase physical speed; it relies on evasive skill and reflexes.
  • Users may still struggle against attacks that cover a wide area or those designed to limit movement options.
  • Relies on the user's perception; impaired sensory capabilities may reduce effectiveness.
  • May not work against enemies who can nullify or bypass evasive techniques.
