Background

Flowmotion is the ability to use the environment to one's advantage, allowing them to perform feats such as kicking off almost any surface, air dashing, swinging around lampposts, grinding along rails, and battling enemies with speed and style. This movement technique is often combined with combat, allowing the user to fluidly connect physical attacks with coordinated follow-ups.

Also Called

  • Dynamic Movement
  • Environmental Movement

Possible Applications

  • Kicking Off Surfaces: Users can perform rapid, precise kicks off walls, objects, or enemies to change direction or gain speed.
  • Air Dashing: The user can dash through the air, briefly gliding or extending movement through a burst of speed.
  • Swinging and Grinding: By using nearby objects, such as poles or rails, the user can swing or grind along them, seamlessly transitioning into combat or other actions.

Potential Types

  • Combat Flowmotion: The user utilizes the environment to enhance their fighting style, linking movement with attacks for seamless combos.
  • Traversal Flowmotion: The user uses Flowmotion for movement, bypassing obstacles and traveling quickly across environments.

Limitations

  • Environment Dependency: Flowmotion relies heavily on the environment, requiring surfaces, objects, or specific features for the user to interact with.
  • Speed Requirements: Some users may need a certain level of speed or momentum to perform certain feats, limiting the use of Flowmotion in some contexts.
