Background

Remina is the titular main antagonist of the Junji Ito manga of the same name (Jigokusei Remina).

It is a massive alien entity from another dimension, initially mistaken for an exoplanet by Earth's observers. Hostile in nature, Remina's sole purpose is to rampage through the cosmos, destroying or consuming any planets and stars in her path. After discovering Earth's sentient life, Remina targets the planet with the intent to obliterate it.

It ultimately succeeds in doing this, killing effectively all life on the planet asides from a few survivors that hit on a spaceship.
