Mai is a Japanese feminine given name with multiple possible meanings depending on the kanji used, most commonly "dance" (舞) or "coy" (麻衣). The name also appears in other cultures: In Vietnamese, it can mean "apricot" or "plum blossom," while in Welsh, it derives from the name Mary.
