Background
Pokemon Nightmare Invasion is a survival horror game based off the Pokémon series made in germany by Xargoth.
The series takes place in an alternate universe where Pokemon are not a natural thing.
A city known as Azure City is a ghost town where the entire town's population disappeared with no proof of what happened to them.
Young investigator Jack is tasked with arriving to Azure City and solving the case, with him having his own personal reasons for going to the city.

In 1961, GENE CO. was founded by a group of inventors and they decided to set their headquarters up in Azure City.
Azure City became a meeting point for scientists from all around the world. By 1963, the tours through the temple ruins were closed down.
They were vastly overshadowed by the tours through the GENE CO. HQ and the tours were deemed to be dangerous when a child was impaled by a stalactite in 1962.

Azure City is a mysterious ghost town, according to its history, the town was created by a demonic entity who helped the townspeople learn to hunt more efficiently[2], with the natives doing monthly sacrifices as a means to please their deity[2]. One of their sacrifices enraged the deity leading to the "Storm of Rage" where 83% of the population died[2]. The temple burned down during this storm and created a lake around the temple's ruins, allegedly travelers who would come by the temple were said to be cursed by the demon and die a horrible death[2]. Azure City was officially founded by a building tycoon in 1930, nearly one thousand years after the storm of rage, with the burned temple being a tourist attraction[2]. GENE CO. was founded in 1961 and set their headquarters up in Azure City[2]. By 1963, Azure City became a meeting point for scientists from all around the world and the tours through the temple ruins were closed down[2]. The tours were deemed to be dangerous when a child impaled by a stalactite in 1962[2]. According to the scriptures, the city was cursed since the storm of rage and that the demon would return after 1000 years to punish non-believers[2]. The return date is believed to be February 27, 1996[2].
Around 1996, multiple newspapers[2] note how the whole population in the city disappeared overnight[2]. Some theories linked to possible Alien abduction[2].
Attempts at investigations resulted in policemen going missing[2]. People also went to start blaming Gene Co. behind the incidents[2].
