This nuke will nuke everything in sight if it is defeated. The best strategy is to run from it. If it is with a companion, defeat the companion, then run.

Background
The Nuclear Reactor Robot is an enemy in EarthBound and Mother 3. It explodes when it is defeated. It is based on the SuperEnergy from EarthBound Beginnings and is a more difficult version of the Atomic Power Robot in both of the games.
The Atomic Power Robot is an enemy in EarthBound that can be encountered in the Stonehenge Base. Along with firing a beam, it will frequently replenish its fuel supply, casting Lifeup γ on itself or allies without using PP, and it will explode upon death, dealing damage to all party members. It may spawn alongside up to two Starman Supers, two Military Octobots, or a Mook Senior.
The EnergyRobot is an enemy in EarthBound Beginnings. It can heal other enemies and will explode after being defeated. A tougher version of this enemy is the SuperEnergy. The Atomic Power Robot enemy in EarthBound and Mother 3 is likely based on this enemy.
The SuperEnergy is an enemy in EarthBound Beginnings. It is a more difficult version of the EnergyRobot. Being a buffed version of the EnergyRobot, it can also heal enemies in battle. It will explode--dealing damage to everyone in the party--after being defeated. The Nuclear Reactor Robot of EarthBound and Mother 3 is likely based on this enemy.
