Might as well get this out of the way yeah?

Conditions:

  • A regular Ditto is used
  • Ditto has its Imposter ability

Ditto

Vs

Son Goku

This one is interesting, from what I'm seeing of the Pokedex entries he turns into an almost perfect copy of the individual, so the question is what's the usual win-loss ratio for Ditto's when facing using their transform technique, cause Goku hasn't effectively fought a copy of himself in the manga/anime as far as I can remember unless we're counting one offs like Janemba making a clone of him for a split second or Goku Black.

I think the "almost perfect" copy might be in relation to Ditto being unable to copy an opponent' HP stat. Cause otherwise Ditto literally gains their moveset, stats, ability and physiology as a whole sense it copies their very genetic

This is decently difficult to say cause we have no real reference of Goku fighting a clone and Ditto would likely not fight with Goku's standard strategies.

Going with incon since I can't really see a win beyond a reasonable doubt for either.

Perfectly understandable, I'd be inclined to go for Inconclusive as well.

Wouldn't a wild Ditto just not not be as skilled? Even if Ditto has a full understanding of Goku's moves, Wouldn't Goku be the overall be the better fighter?

Ditto being able to perfectly use all Pokemon moves regardless of the type, application or the cases where it's facing against a Pokemon with HM/TV/TR moves equipped shows it's already a ridiculously skilled fighter.

Goku's fighting style directly has issues against opponents equal or stronger then him too.

A wild Ditto is capable of mimicking Fighting-Type Pokémon who which have their own specialty in martial arts. Hell Machamp is said to be a master of every type of martial arts

"MACHAMP is known as the POKéMON that has mastered every kind of martial arts. If it grabs hold of the foe with its four arms, the battle is all but over. The hapless foe is thrown far over the horizon."

It's likely Ditto would be able to mimic Goku's fighting style as well, just overall be less experienced with it but Goku has never really fought himself and his general attitude would likely just result in him seeing how far Ditto can copy him

Would Ditto's PP limit get in the way if Goku does indeed stretch the battle to make it longer?

Posted by StinkyGumi on 11 September 2026 at 01:56.

Probably not? Pokémon can attack without requiring PP usage as in seen in stuff like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon or Pokken tournament. Moves are useful but aren't necessity for them to fight. Plus, i'm rather uncertainty how Power Points would work in Goku's case

I'll incline to inconclusive then!
