So our viewing something as fiction standards are already pretty strict but I think it's time to make a thread where they are basically unusable for tiering.

To explain, a huge thing with reality-fiction differences is trying to find out which is or isn't a transcendence. Normally people will see someone looking at reality like a piece of paper and say "well this is a transcendence" but it's not that simple. There is so many cases in just gag series alone where they view their own work as fiction, or they are able to fight an author who views them as fiction and clearly in both of these cases they can't be transcendent, especially the latter case as it's just straight circular reasoning, the person they view as fiction for why they're transcendent can beat them?

So the question comes then, how exactly is there a fictional transcendence? Well the answer kind of is, there isn't. See the original way we held it was that viewing something as fiction would not grant a transcendence unless the fictional reality called you a god or something, but even then... that's not really a good metric to use.

On top of this too, we do not treat transcendence as a tier anymore.

Using some examples, there are many cases of viewing as fiction not really denoting a transcendence, but rather just that the thing viewed as fiction is a alternative universe that's a far off deviating timeline from the "real world" or "real" reality.

Marvel has the in-universe authors and editors view the comics as literal fiction.

But then there's a real world in Marvel that's meant to be our world and it's just an alternate universe in the Marvel multiverse.

DC has the same thing, The Writer as a primary example and DC has it's own real world earth universe.

I use these two examples to show that you can have a world that views a reality as fiction but you can view a far off deviating universe as that, because that would be a world completely outside of your scope of reality, it's completely fictional to you cause none of their concepts exist in your reality.

So basically I think the remaining stuff we had for allowing a transcendence for a reality-fiction transcendence should just be removed real worlds are basically never transcendent realms, that author never puts them that way beyond "I can draw whatever I want". It also doesn't really make sense for said real world to be this transcendent realm when it's meant to be our world. Like if it's genuinely meant to be our world how do we also say that we're 1-C cause of that? In actual actuality that would realistically downgrade the verse if you wanted to treat the real world as transcendent.

Realistically it should just be the real world is an alternate universe that's a far off deviation in the timeline from the world you're playing in and the comic editors, writers, players of a game, etcetera have the ability to influence said alt universe with their devices without even realizing it (or they do, it doesn't really matter). So basically reality-fiction differences shouldn't be considered transcendences UNLESS the verse itself directly word for word says it.

This would make it where editors, writers, players, etcetera would have something like "10-B to 9-C physically" as their other stuff is merely plot based abilities.

Another issue I'd like to address is a slight match ban, on specifically characters that are just meta things like writers, software engineers, etcetera. Thinking about it for someone like The Player from MOTHER, they're just a regular human playing a game so how are you exactly going to make a match with them work. There's no real way to visualize this. So this should only apply if the player can directly enter reality and can fight like that.
