The Rolling Giant's creation is first shown in part 1 of The Oldest View. It later first physically appears in part 3 of The Oldest View, first acting like it cannot move in front of Wyatt while he is traveling around the abandoned mall. It gives up this bit chasing after him and then pretending it cannot go up the escalators Wyatt hides on when it gets near. Eventually during the final chase it reveals it can actually climb up the escalators and watches Wyatt try to climb out of the mall before falling to his death or escaping depending on the ending. |
Name Meaning
The name is literal; it's a giant puppet that rolls on wheels.
Appearance
General Description: The Rolling Giant is a giant puppet on wheels that roams around Valley View Center. It stands 12 feet (3 meters) tall in the mall, or 18 feet (5 meters) tall in the parade.
Facial Features: A tan face with large red lips, a big nose, and black eyes with white pupils. Black eyebrows and eyelashes. A black beard, mustache, and long black hair.
Clothing/Outfit: A dark purple robe covering most of its cart, leaving only the wheels visible. A black shirt. His hands are flowers roughly shaped into fingers.
Physical Features: It has a four-wheeled cart beneath it. In the back of the cart, two red flags stick out from white poles. His arms are held up by two long black poles in a constant position with his arms spread out.
Personality
- Trickster: The Rolling Giant is a trickster, tricking Wyatt into thinking it cannot do things it later shows it can actually do. It at first pretends that it[1] cannot move or doesn't move if Wyatt is looking at it[1]. Then eventually it starts running after Wyatt even while he's looking at it[1].
