Two different feats. One (or two?) Angel performing both.

Hopefully this won't take as much sanity out of me as the Sahaquiel calc did before it.

#1 - N2 Detonation vs. Israfel Twins

A single N2 depth charge was detonated on the twin halves of the Angel Israfel, following its humiliating defeat of EVA Units 01 and 02, in order to impede its progress.

First thing first, to scale the size of the hill formation that the Israfel "twins" are resting on in the first image.

Spoiler:

The green line measures 32 pixels: the Israfel "twins" are equal in height to an EVA Unit, which as seen in the Sahaquiel calc, measure at 50.32 metres.

The red line (length of the visible hill formation) measures 638 pixels: 1001.66 metres, or rounded up to 1.002 kilometres.

The yellow line (best visual of the height of the visible hill formation) measures 100 pixels or 157 metres.

The blue line is probably the best indicator of a potential width for the hill formation (I was unsure if scaling off the "twins" would be fair), as the building needs to be supported by ground at least as wide as itself. It measures 4 pixels or 6.32 metres.

For determining the volume, I'm going to be lazy and just calculate the entire formation as one generic rectangular prism (sorry lads ), so length x width x height:

1001.66*157*6.32 = 993,887.118 m^3.

All blasted to high hell by that single N2 depth charge.

EDIT: In light of my examination of similar N2 Weapon detonations in the series and for the sake of consistency maybe), I've decided to use the melting energy value of rock (which is 4300 J/cm^3) instead of the pulverisation value.

This helpful post from Fluttershy should also be highlighted, as it helps at least partially to verify the size of the formed lake, which I could not address originally:

now to measure yellow lines length via angsize

http://www.1728.org/angsize.htm

will use vertical again:

39/480 = 0.08125

0.08125*135 = 10.97 degress

size = 26.24m

Distance = 136.63 m

IMO the largest of the three should be taken here

so pi*215.3^2 = 145,625.67 m^2 area

and depth would be Israfel height minus visible torso height : 50.32m - 26.24m = 24.08 m

145,625.67*24.08 = 3,506,666.13 m^3 - low-end since still some of the water outside of view + the stuff above ground-level was also destroyed

3,506,666.13*1,000,000*4300 = 15078664359000000 joules or 3.60 megatons of TNT equivalent.

Alternatively, you could simply scale the size of the fireball to the hill formation length in the second image: the fireball diameter is 548 pixels to the hill formation's 638 pixels. The diameter is thus measured out to be 860.36 metres: divide by half for the radius, which is 430.18 metres. Incredibly conveniently, 430 metres is the exact radius for a 1 megaton yield fireball.

At least for the present moment (since there is limited capability in scaling the size of the artificially-formed lake for further estimates), the N2 Mine's energy yield ranges between 1 megaton (based on fireball size); objectively speaking, the 1 megaton figure is possibly more accurate, given that it makes no assumption on the manner in which all the material affected by the explosion was destroyed. However, the 3.5+ megatons figure is more consistent with my other works, plus has the benefit of working with fictional, practically unfeasible weaponry in a sci-fi/fantasy setting, thus to a degree sating one's suspense of disbelief. Your choice~!

#2 - Israfel's Destruction

To conclude the little dance-and-song of the Angel of Music, EVA Units 01 and 02 perform a INAZUMA KIIIIICK duet on Israfel, damaging its core and triggering the resulting Angel self-destruction policy. The resulting explosion dwarfs the hill that the three skidded across:

Determining the energy yield of the melting portion of the blast isn't too difficult:

Spoiler:

Green line indicates the height of EVA Unit 02, which is equal to the height of EVA Unit 01 (50.32 metres). It measures out as 23 pixels.

Red line indicates the portion of the crater that exhibits melting properties. It measures out at 292 pixels or 639.48 metres.

Purple line indicates the depth of the melted portion of the crater. It measures out at 117 pixels or 256.23 metres.

It is very difficult to determine the exact length of the crater due to the end closer to the screen being obscured by the remaining hill "shell", so I'll assume it is of the same measurement as the width if you don't mind maybe).

Throw it into our trusty ellipsoid volume calculator: 319.74*319.74*256.23 = 109,452,435.94 m^3

The energy value of melting granite is 4300 J/cm^3, so 109452435.94*1,000,000*4300 = 470645474542000000 joules or 112.49 megatons of TNT equivalent.

Admittedly, that's only part of the hill's destruction accounted for: there is also the larger section of rock destroyed by the explosion that did not exhibit melting properties. However, the difference it would make to the final result will most likely be negligible due to the lack of melting or vapourisation on the remainder of the hill, plus the fact that the hill itself is difficult to scale in height due to vague showings of it.

So have at it, I suppose!
