Non-volatile status

A non-volatile status condition is a status condition that remains outside of battle and after being switched out. It's displayed in the party screen, and the Pokémon's summary. A Pokémon cannot gain a non-volatile status condition if it's already afflicted by another one. They can be cured by healing at a Pokémon Center, specific curative items, or other ways. If a Pokémon is affected by a non-volatile status condition, an icon will display the type of status condition

Burn

This NVSC works by setting the pokémon on fire), however you can't put it out by using powers such as Water Manipulation. An intressing fact is that resisting Fire Manipulation does not grant you resistance to burn, you'd instead need some type of Fire Physiology, along with that Burn will not go away with time and can only be healed with status effect healing. Burn will deal damage equal to 1/16 of the vitality of someone, but it will also cut the AP of physical moves in Half.

Freeze

This NVSC works by Freezing a pokémon whole in which they can't do anything until the ice melt as prove by the flavor text which says "Pokémon was thawed out". Just like Burn resisting Ice Manipulation does not grant you resistance to freeze, you'd instead need some type of Ice Physiology or be so hot that you can't be frozen (which is hard sense pokemon like Centiskorch can be frozen), If they are hit by a Fire Move, the pokemon will be thaw out and if there is a Harsh Sunlight, no one can be frozen, but the Harsh Sunlight will not thaw someone

Paralysis

This NVSC works by Paralyzing a pokémon in which Their speed will be halved and they might be immobilized for a short amount of time. like other status effect Simply resisting Electricity Manipulation does not always grant you resistance to Paralysis, especailly sense moves like Body Slam can also cause paralysis however those who resist Paralysis Inducement can't be affacted. this also works on ghost type pokemon and pokemon such as Garbodor so not having nerves is not an issue for this. Paralysis will not go away with time and can only be healed with status effect healing.

Poison

This NVSC works by, well poisoing a pokémon. Poison has the effect of giving damage (1/8 of damage per turn) to someone and has no additional effect. Like other status effect resisting Poison Manipulation does not grant you resistance to poison, you'd need some type of Poison Physiology or have Inorganic Physiology although this is a case by case scenario sense pokémons like Golurk can be poisoned

Badly Poison One of the strongest NVSC. It is like poison, since it only does damage (1/16 of damage per turn), but the damage increases after each hit (1/16 of increasing, example: The first turn is 1/16, the second turn is 2/16, the third turn is 3/16, etc)

Sleep

This NVSC works by putting a pokémon to sleep for a random number of its turns, people who can resist Sleep Manipulation are unaffacted

Volatile status

A volatile status is a status condition that is inflicted by a move or Ability from another Pokémon and will wear off when a Pokémon is switched out of battle or when a battle is over. Many volatile status conditions will also wear off after a number of turns have passed. A Pokémon can be affected by multiple volatile status conditions at a time. A volatile status condition is not indicated by an icon.

Bound

This Status is related to trapping the foe, this can be done by a lot of moves, such as with Wrap, Bind, Whirlpool, Fire Spin etc. Regardless of what move is used, they all have the same effect: The move will damage the target for 4-5 turns receiving damage equals to 1/8 of their health, 1/6 if the user of the Bond move has a Binding Band and the target will be unable to move. However Ghost Types can't be trapped.

Confusion

This Status is often related to Mind Manipulation as a pokémon that is confused will sometimes damage itself instead of the opposing pokémon. like other status effect resiting Mind Manipulation does not grant resistance to Confusion as even dark type can be confused who are naturally immune to attacks such as Confusion

Curse

This status can only by inflicted by Ghost Type Pokémons which is baiscally Curse Manipulation here's the effect: A cursed Pokémon takes damage equal to ¼ of its maximum HP every turn. The cursed condition remains as long as the afflicted Pokémon is on the field. If a cursed Pokémon uses Baton Pass, the cursed condition is passed to its replacement.

Embargo

This Status makes pokémons unable to use held items and trainers also can't use any items

Encore

This Status forces pokémons to repeat the same move they've just used, it's usually associted with Mind Manipulation

Flinch

This Status is a one-turn status that prevents a Pokémon from attacking. The Pokémon anime seem to depict it as Fear Manipulation

Heal Block

This Status prevent the pokémon from Healing may it be by their own power or by their held item, it also Negates Absorption as pokémon with Water Absorb and Volt Absorb will now take damage from Water and Electric type attack respectively

Identified

This Status prevent the pokémon to benefit from thier Evasion boost, which counters attacks such as Double Team which is Afterimage Creation and Illusion Creation along with that it Negate some pokemon immunities such as Odor Sleuth allowing Normal and Fighting Type Moves to hit Ghost Type pokémons and Miracle eye allowing Psychic Type Moves to hit Dark Type pokémons.

Infatuation

This status makes the pokémon infatuated with the user, making the affacted pokémon not attack 50% of the times (althought the anime seems to show the pokémon not wanting to attack at all). It's of course Empathic Manipulation

Leech Seed

This status steals 1/8 of a pokémon's life force each turn that passes, having some kind of plant physiology makes you immune to it.

Nightmare

This status only affect pokémons that are asleep (See the sleep status), The sleeping Pokémon loses ¼ of its maximum hit points every turn. If the sleeping Pokémon awakens, then the nightmare will no longer be in effect. It is Dream Manipulation

Perish Song

This status will cause both the user and the opponent to get knocked out in 3 turns, People with resistance to Sound Manipulation may be unaffacted

Taunt

This Status prevents a pokémon from using a status move, it's often associated with Power Nullification

Torment

This Status prevents a pokémon from using the same move twice in a row, it's often associated with Mind Manipulation

Volatile battle status

A volatile battle status is usually self-inflicted and will wear off when a Pokémon is taken out of battle or a battle is over. Many of these will also wear off after a number of turns pass. Since they aren't shown in battle as a status condition (having an icon) a Pokémon can be affected with multiple volatile battle statuses, volatile conditions and a non-volatile condition at the same time.

Aqua Ring

This status can only be used by using the move Aqua ring, the user envelops itself in a veil made of water in which it will regain 1/16th of its maximum HP every turn.

Bracing

This Status can only by used by using the move Endure which makes it so that whenever the user takes damage that turn it will always survive with at least 1HP. It's Resistance to One Hit Kill

Center of attention

This Status makes it so the user (Or the opponent if Spotlight is used) becomes the sole target of attacks, it's often associated with Mind Manipulation

Rooting

This Status can only be used by using the move Ingrain in which the user lays roots that restore 1/16th of its maximum HP every turn but cannot switch out or flee,

Magic Coat

This Status can only be used by using the move Magic Coat in which the user creates a barrier that reflect status condition moves and Statistics Reduction Moves. It is a limited form of Attack Reflection

Taking aim

This Status makes it so the user's next damage-dealing move will hit that target without fail. It's Evaison Negation
