Angels can make actions and movements without requiring any form of thought

Background

Autopilot is the ability to enter a state where actions are performed without requiring conscious thought. The user operates instinctively, with every movement and reaction occurring as naturally as breathing. This allows them to evade, attack, or defend against any form of assault, including sneak attacks, without the need for deliberate decision-making.

This ability can be considered an elevated version of a human's unconditioned reflex and conditioned reflex, where actions are performed automatically based on stimuli, either learned or innate. However, those in an autopilot state can act without relying on stimuli, bypassing the need for reactive or stimulus-driven responses.

At higher levels, users of this ability can instinctively counter omni-directional assaults or avoid Imperceivable Attacks, as their reactions are not dependent on perceiving the attacks in the first place.

Applications

  • Instinctive Evasion: Automatically dodging attacks, including those from blind spots or multiple directions.
  • Automatic Defense: Blocking or parrying attacks without requiring conscious effort.
  • Uninterrupted Offense: Maintaining consistent, fluid offensive actions without pausing to think.
  • Counterattacking: Reacting to an attacker's movements instantaneously to launch precise counterattacks.
  • Survival Reflex: Performing life-preserving actions, such as avoiding environmental hazards, without needing to assess the situation consciously.

Advantages

  • Eliminates reaction time, allowing the user to respond instantly to threats.
  • Makes the user highly resistant to surprise attacks or unconventional tactics.
  • Allows for seamless and efficient movement in combat situations.

Limitations

  • May require a period of training or mastery to achieve the autopilot state.
  • Prolonged use could lead to physical or mental fatigue depending on the user's stamina.
  • Could be less effective against opponents who manipulate the user's automated responses.
  • Actions taken in this state may lack the creativity or adaptability of conscious decision-making.

Users

  • Ultra Instinct Son Goku (Dragon Ball Super): Goku in his ultra instinct state reaches a state where he essentially can act without requiring to think, dodging attacks without issue.
  • Sans (Undertale): Sans automatically avoids any attacks within the Undertale FIGHT button, even if he's asleep he can casually avoid an attack.
