Introduction

Hey look a famous feat, this is to basically explain why it's a Chain Reaction for Cell.

Explanation

So a video game shows us a what would've happened if Cell won the beam clash with Gohan, showing him destroying the sun causing it to supernova and destroy the solar system. This is further explored in other pieces of media, where Cell notes he'll blow away the sun along with the earth. Now while the argument would be "Why would alternate media take precedence over main canon", it doesn't. The issue is, these do not contradict Cell's statements, they give context to Cell's statement. So with this in mind, no one scales to the 4-B part of this calc as it's a chain reaction from causing the sun to supernova. We also know Cell has regen that allows him to recover from blowing up a good chunk of his body, so there's no reason to say he would've tanked it. We know this is even more of the case since a far more powerful enemy, Majin Buu, only ever destroys the planet with his attack, and this is an attack that kills everyone that doesn't teleport away. This is a fully charged attack from Kid Buu mind you that Goku and Vegeta can't even deflect away, so there's no reason to assume it's weaker then Solar Kamehameha.

The Calculation of the Chain Reaction

So a video game shows us a what would've happened if Cell won the beam clash with Gohan, showing him destroying the sun causing it to supernova and destroy the solar system. So this is going to be a calc based off destroying the sun from this range.

4*U*(Er/Br)^2 = E, where U is GBE of the body, Er is the explosion's radius, Br is the celestial body's radius, and E is energy, we need GBE for the target body, the explosion radius, and the target body's radius.

GBE of the Sun: The gravitational binding energy of the sun is 2.3 x 10^41 Joules.

Explosion Radius: 1 AU, or 1.496x10^11 meters

Body Radius: 1 Solar Radius, or 6.957x10^8 meters

E = 4*(2.3x10^41)*((1.496x10^11)/(6.957x10^8))^2 = 4.254093272067852939e46 Joules or 425 FOE, Solar System level.
