Introduction
Damage Reduction, also known as Damage Minimalization, is the ability to decrease and reduce the damage the target takes, making them harder to defeat or destroy.
This ability differs from Statistics Reduction, as it does not lower the opponent's statistics, only the damage taken.
It is also distinct from Statistics Amplification, as no part of the user's statistics is enhanced.
Users with this ability are often considered tanks or hard-to-kill, as they can prolong the duration of a fight without suffering fatal damage.
Applications
- Armor-Based Damage Reduction: In many RPG games, armor or other forms of protective gear reduce the damage taken from attacks. This does not directly increase the user’s defense but minimizes the effect of incoming damage.
- Extra Hit-Based Damage Reduction: Certain power-ups or items allow a character to take an "extra hit" without suffering any fatal consequences, even if the attack is stronger than usual. This gives them an additional chance to survive an otherwise fatal blow.
