| “ | My daughter, if you can hear me, I knew you would return as well. It's in your nature to protect the innocent. I'm sorry on that day, the day you were shut out and left to die, no one was there to lift you up into their arms the way you lifted others into yours. And then, what became of you. I should have known you wouldn't be content to disappear, not my daughter. I couldn't save you then, so let me save you now. It's time to rest; for you, and for those you have carried in your arms. This ends for all of us. End communication. | „ |

Background
The Puppet (also known as the Marionette) is an animatronic puppet, a major antagonist, and one of the toy animatronics of the Five Nights at Freddy's series, first appearing in Five Nights at Freddy's 2, but later games show its heroic side. It possibly serves as the prize vendor of the newly refurbished Freddy Fazbear's Pizza of 1987, although it's implied that it was originally from Fredbear's Family Diner. The Puppet is haunted by William Afton's first victim, a little girl named Charlotte Emily.

Codex Statistics
Grade: A
Tier: 9-B
Cardinality: Finite
Dimensionality: 3-D
Attack Potency: Wall level (Potency) (Should be comparable to the other animatronics, who can crush[9] skulls[10]. Can one-shot the security guard[11]. They should scale to their novel counterparts due to being just as canon to the games, and are noted as alternate continuities[12]. The animatronics in the novels can tear off bathroom doors, destroy other animatronics their size, break open hinged doors, casually snap people's necks, break open a ceiling, break through a slide, and punch holes through people[13])
Durability: Wall level, Lower when pulling apart parts (Animatronics parts can easily be pulled apart by toddlers[14])
Striking Strength: Wall Class (Potency)
Lifting Strength: Peak Human (In The Silver Eyes, it is stated that the animatronics are capable of lifting and tossing large arcade cabinets as if they were toys)
Travel Speed: Superhuman (Can disappear from sight in an instant from the flashlight being shone on and off it, along with not being able to be found on any of the cameras beyond very low sight afterimages in one room[15]. Comparable to Freddy Fazbear, who run across from the right end of Fazbear's Pizza[16] to the left end in seconds[17]. Comparable to Mangle, who can climb from the lower vent to the ceiling seemingly in a second[18])
Attack Speed: Superhuman
Reaction Speed: Superhuman
Stamina: High (Seemingly able to stay active for at least 6 hours)
Range: Standard Melee, Tens of Meters with illusions
Intelligence: Gifted Intelligence (The Puppet was able to avoid death in FNaF 2, brought back each dead child to life, managed to sneak her way to other locations without getting caught, and is hooked up to a criminal database)
Knowledge: At least Expert level (Knows how to give gifts, give life[19])
Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Body Control (Animatronics can be dismantled, such as Mangle[20] and move around despite that), Enhanced Senses (Can see and move around in the dark[21]), Stealth Mastery (All animatronics are capable of hiding within the cameras, requiring the night guard to use the technology of the building to find them[22]. Can quickly leave out of sight once a room goes dark[23]), Self-Sustenance (Respiratory Self-Sustenance, Nutritional Self-Sustenance, & Restful Self-Sustenance), Information Analysis (The toys have a facial recognition software to detect criminals[24]), Technological Manipulation (Bonnie's mere appearance causes the technology to flicker and turn off[25], all animatronics upon entering a room causes the camera to go static[26]), Berserk Mode (It's stated that animatronics becomes more active as the week progresses[27]).
Resistance to Electricity Manipulation (Every animatronic in Pizzeria Simulator can be shocked without much damage[28]. Sister Location animatronics can take controlled shocks[29])
Stealth Mastery (The Puppet was able to travel to the locations of Five Nights at Freddy's 1[30] and Five Nights at Freddy's 3[31] without ever getting caught), Possibly Flight (The Puppet seems to float when moving[32]), Afterimage Creation (The Puppet can create afterimages as she is let out[33]), Mortality Manipulation & Soul Manipulation (The Puppet was the one who gave each dead child a new life within the animatronic suits[34])
Sheer Will, Possession, & Limited Fusionism (Like others in the verse[36], their sheer will of vengeance melded[37] into the animatronic, making his body one with it[38]. Even if their bodies are separate from the animatronics, they can retain a form of[39] sorts that are incorporeal[40]), Undead Physiology (The Crying Children are spirits that are running off of vengeance[41]. They will only truly disappear after their birthday party is complete[42]), Flight (As ghost, they naturally can fly[43]), Incorporeality & Invisibility (As dead spirits they're naturally incorporeal, turn invisible after William Afton's supposed death[44]. Golden Freddy can disappear from sight and re-appear as merely a head[45]), Astral Projection (Even if their bodies are separate from the animatronics, they can retain a form of[46] sorts that are incorporeal[47]), Time Travel (Should scale to Shadow Bonnie, who can travel back to the Crying Child's party and give them cake[48]), Time Paradox Immunity (Grandfather Paradox; Unaffected by Shadow Bonnie going back in time and giving them cake as they still roam around in FNaF 1[49]), Extrasensory Perception (Can see Shadow Freddy[50]), Illusion Creation (The crying children can create hallucinations of their cries on walls[51]. Golden Freddy's appearance creates many text images to appear such as "it's me"[52]), Teleportation (Spirits such as Golden Freddy can teleport around[53]), Body Control (Spirits such as Golden Freddy remove his entire body and reappear as just a head[54]), Pocket Reality Manipulation & Dimensional Travel (Golden Freddy is the one who created the hell room in Ultimate Custom Night, along with all the animatronics[55]. Other spirits[56] can create[57] similar spaces[58] as shown in FNaF 3[59]. Other animatronics and spirits such as Shadow Bonnie can access these areas[60]), Mind Manipulation & Breaking the Fourth Wall (Golden Freddy's jumpscare can instantly crash the game, in-universe this would essentially be making the person go unconscious through overloading the character with their hallucinations[61]. Other spirits such as Shadow Bonnie are capable of doing the same[62])

Standard Tactics:
| “ | One more thing - don't forget the music box. I'll be honest, I never liked that puppet thing. It was always...thinking, and it can go anywhere...I don't think a Freddy mask will fool it, so just don't forget the music box. | „ |
| ~ Phone Guy |
Due to being within an animatronic, each animatronic has a movement cycle they go by, The Puppet is located in the Prize Corner and will only appear if the Music Box is left un-wound for too long.
| “ | In addition to Springtrap, there are loads of animatronic hallucinations to deal with. All of them will cause systems to malfunction unless you take quick action, and suspiciously, all the animatronics appear burned. | „ |
| ~ The Freddy Files, page 64 |
Along with Chica, it can be seen in the hallway in CAM 08. Its appearance does affect gameplay, and if the player stares at the Puppet for too long the Phantom Puppet will attack. For the Phantom Puppet, not much can be seen about it, as only its head is shown. The Puppet lacks a body entirely and the back of its head which makes it partly empty. Although sometimes on CAM 08, the player can see the real Puppet, with the same design from the second game, real enough to see its reflection until it is actually revealed to be Phantom Puppet after lowering the Monitor down.
| “ | Keep his music box wound or he will come to get you! The global music box also works against him. | „ |
| ~ The Puppet's description in Ultimate Custom Night |
Like in the second game, the Puppet resides in its music box, now located in the Kitchen. Along with it attacking if music box is left un-wound for too long.
Weaknesses: Puppet's programming forces them to stay within the box so long as the music is kept wound up[63]. If it hits 6 AM, the animatronic no longer targets and resorts to its daytime functions[64], though the toys seem to have messed with[65] having them attack Jeremy Fitzgerald during the day[66]. The Puppet being flashed with bright light and immediately winding the music box will force it back into the prize box[67].

Sometimes a timeline gets so full that the only way to tell a real story is have the story set in a different timeline, an alternate universe, a different location, or perhaps from a vantage point that isn't entirely what it appears to be."
