Novice level (Gogo is pretty unaware and stupid at times, such as not being able to tell what tree Geiko was hiding behind even though one of them was pretty fake[18], not being able to tell that Nono was related to Emperor Koro despite the obvious similarities[19], and thinking that people are giants[20] just because they're in big screens[21]. Gogo when playing a video game thinks the two cockroaches fighting in the room is the video game[22])

Background
Gogo Matsumoto (ゴゴー松本, Gogō Matsumoto) is the central protagonist of PUNCH PUNCH FOREVER!. At 11 years old, she is a gifted human martial artist who participates in battles against demons within the Infinite Tournament. She is the daughter of Mama Matsumoto and Papa Matsumoto, the younger half-sister of Nono Matsumoto, and the owner of her pet, Coolfrog.
Appearance
- General Description:
Gogo is a small Japanese girl with a youthful build. Her fair skin and short stature highlight her age, while her lively demeanor contrasts with the scars she bears from past encounters.
- Facial Features:
She has blue-black hair accented with lighter blue highlights, worn in a simple style. A white bandage rests on her right cheek, covering a cut left by Geiko. She wears large round glasses, which emphasize her expressive eyes and give her a distinct look.
- Clothing/Outfit:
Her usual fighting attire is a white martial arts gi marked with a red circle on the chest. A black sash with yellow tips is tied around her waist, and she wears blue shin guards and arm guards for protection. Beneath her gi, she layers a yellow and black blouse, blending traditional gear with her own style.
- Special Features:
The bandage on her cheek and her oversized glasses stand out as signature parts of her appearance, often giving her a mix of vulnerability and determination.
- Alternate Forms/Disguises:
- Home clothes: A light yellow shirt paired with pink pants decorated with cloud motifs, along with white socks. She also has another set consisting of a white, pink, and light blue blouse with "coco" printed in the center, long reddish-pink shorts, and white socks.
- Camping outfit: A yellow shirt with a black collar layered under a blue zipper jacket, brown shorts, and white shoes with pink laces and soles.
- Nightwear: Comfortable light yellow sleep shirt with pink pants patterned with clouds, worn with plain white socks.
Personality
- Cheerful and Lighthearted: Gogo carries a happy-go-lucky attitude, often approaching situations with optimism and energy.
- Determined Go-Getter: Despite her young age, she shows remarkable determination and persistence. Even when being hit with bats, electrocuted, and sliced with knives, she keeps fighting to win.
- Playful and Silly: She enjoys being silly and random when the mood strikes.
- Naïve and Immature: As an 11-year-old, she can be naïve and occasionally immature, which reflects both her inexperience and her age-appropriate innocence.
Relationships
Mama Matsumoto
Gogo’s mother is caring and attentive, often doting on her despite Gogo’s rambunctious behavior. A former fighter herself, she understands Gogo’s interest in martial arts and supports her decision to participate, showing both concern and trust in her daughter.
Nono Matsumoto
Gogo and her older half-sister have a mixed relationship. Nono has acted abusively toward her, sometimes hitting or throwing her, even breaking her glasses at one point. Despite this, she has also shown moments of support, such as defending Gogo from ridicule, though her actions often remain harsh afterward.
Papa Matsumoto
Although often overlooked due to his minimal presence, Gogo’s father is always present wherever Gogo is. Gogo forgets about him due to his little screentime, but when she remembers him she is genuinely happy to see him. In episode 3, she directly acknowledges and thanks her father apart of the group of people she's thanking.
Coolfrog
Coolfrog is very close to Gogo and is usually seen perched on her head. She treats him with care, taking him on walks and showing affection. Their bond is especially clear when Nono threatens him, threatening to tear Nono's head off if she harms him.

- Despite Emperor Koro being Nono's dad, Gogo is not related to Emperor Koro and has a completely different, regular human dad[77].
- Due to her super strength and the lack of getting killed/injured could be passed down from her mother, Mama Matsumoto.
- According to speedoru, Gogo was based on Velda from the cartoon A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, mainly due to the size of her glasses and "baby eyes"[78].
- It is possible that he may also have been inspired by the character Son Goku from the anime and manga Dragon Ball. Especially when Goku was a child in the 1986 anime. As she carries the same martial arts skill while also being an unaware idiot.
- Although Gogo is the protagonist, she was the second character to be created for the series, the first being Nono Matsumoto.
- When Gogo refers to herself, she uses the term "boku", which is a formal Japanese masculine term for.
- Although it is normally used by people of the male gender, there are currently some women who use the term, becoming a normality to refer to both genders. Along with this, it is normally used by tomboys too.
