Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Jiminy Cricket are on their way back from an adventure. During the return trip, Sora sets the Gummi Ship controls to economy wash and falls asleep, but his dreams quickly begin to spiral out of control. Sora wakes up on Swashbuckler's Island with no memory of how he arrived, and his companions are nowhere to be found. A parrot native to the island named Caw guides Sora as he gathers materials to build a raft. Maleficent summons Shadow Sora to confront Sora at an altar bearing the Heartless emblem. Although Sora defeats his shadow, a tendril of darkness bites him and inflicts a dark curse. Sora and Caw set out on their raft to find The Caterpillar in another world. In Wonderland, Sora is separated from Caw but manages to locate The Caterpillar. To save Sora from the darkness growing inside him, The Caterpillar instructs him to brew a potion from the teeth of three magical creatures. Sora defeats the Purple Crocodile and obtains the first tooth. Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy set off in search of Sora. Sora wakes from another dream in Agrabah. An old man in the marketplace directs Sora to the Cave of Wonders, but only after Sora buys him a cane for three golden coins. Inside the Cave of Wonders, Sora obtains the magic lamp and summons Genie, who grants him three wishes. His first wish is used immediately to escape the lava-filled cavern. Sora then confronts Jafar, who reveals he has allied himself with the Heartless. After defeating Jafar's cobra form and collecting a snake tooth, Sora uses his second wish to create a portal to Maleficent's Castle. Genie cannot fulfill his final wish to defeat the Heartless, so Sora enters the portal in search of a dragon tooth. Elsewhere, Maleficent captures Donald and Goofy. Fighting his way into Maleficent's Castle, Sora finds Caw trapped in a cell. It turns out to be a trick by Maleficent to steal Sora's Keyblade. Sora continues through the castle and finds Donald and Goofy imprisoned in cells. Eventually, he locates the Kingdom Key inside a machine and reclaims it, accidentally activating the machine. This too was part of Maleficent's plan: only Sora's pure heart could open the portals capable of spreading darkness across the worlds. She also reveals that Sora will be fully consumed by darkness by midnight unless he cures himself. Maleficent casts a spell that strips the Keyblade of its magic and retreats to the castle's tower. Unable to face Maleficent in his current state, Sora frees Donald and Goofy instead. While thinking of a plan, Goofy accidentally reveals a hidden entrance to Maleficent's potion room. Sora channels the power of Shadow Sora through a strange mirror, restoring the Keyblade's magic. Donald and Goofy stay behind to search for the antidote while Sora confronts Maleficent atop the tower. Sora defeats Maleficent's dragon form and collects a dragon tooth before returning to deactivate her machine. With the worlds saved from darkness, Sora rushes back to his companions to prepare the potion that will cure him. He jumps into the cauldron, and the world begins to spiral around him. Sora wakes up in the Gummi Ship with Donald and Goofy beside him. The entire adventure was only a dream, though some signs of the journey remain. Thus ends this chapter of Sora's battle with the darkness. |

Sora can use Blizzard Magic to freeze entire waterfalls instantly, making them climbable. The cold winds generated by Blizzard can also be used to blow entire rafts across the sea.

Sora can use Thunder Magic to call down thunder from the sky.
Other
Standard Tactics: Sora will utilize different strikes with his keyblade along with magic.

- Keyblade Weaknesses: If the magic is removed from the Keyblade it can no longer harm the darkness[2].
- Genie Weaknesses: Genie's wishes cannot be used for something such as defeating the heartless[18].
Note
- V Cast was directly acknowledged to be non-canon by Nomura[19].
- While the ending implies it was all a dream, Jiminy notes the events actually happened and Goofy's head is still on fire even after he woke up. Jiminy has been narrating the game since the beginning too further alluding to it not being a dream[10].
- The Alice in Wonderland episode is currently lost media, so it isn't fully known what happened there other then the basic explanations given by the later episodes. All that is known is that Sora met with the caterpillar that told him to find three legendary beast teeth and concoct a potion with it to save him from the curse he was afflicted with. Along with this, the boss fight in Wonderland was likely against the Purple Crocodile as it is found within the files and he likely fought an episode called "UmbrellaBird" in the games files.
Explanations
The Weird Continuity of V Cast
V Cast seemingly assumes some of the events of Kingdom Hearts 1 has happened, however there are some contradicting pieces of dialogue.
Sora is aware of Agrabah and also of Aladdin meaning he has been here before[8]. Yet Sora does not recognize who Genie is despite Genie mentioning how the heartless trapped him back in his lamp[15]. Genie also does not know who Sora is[15].
Levels
As V Cast Levels don't increase all stats but specific ones, the following chart showcases what increases per level (it should be noted that Sora can go over 500 experience but it is irrelevant as level 9 is his last level up):
| Level | Experience | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0 | — |
| 1 | 4 | Max health increased |
| 2 | 8 | Strength increased |
| 3 | 50 | Defense increased |
| 4 | 100 | Max health increased |
| 5 | 150 | Strength increased |
| 6 | 200 | Defense increased |
| 7 | 300 | Max health increased |
| 8 | 400 | Strength increased |
| 9 | 500 | Defense increased |
Trivia
- This version of Sora had no influence from Nomura or Square, which is likely why his personality is more similar to how he acted in Kingdom Hearts 1.
