Encounter
Life Advice Chapter V
If the player picks the second option, Helltaker will follow Zdrada's advice and impales himself on spikes while Pandemonica tries to stop him. |
Appearance
General Description: Malina possesses a slim build and a perpetually tired demeanor that reflects her cynical personality. Her overall appearance blends mundane office wear with subtle demonic traits, reinforcing her role as a disillusioned worker within Hell.
Facial Features: She has fair skin, red eyes that appear heavy-lidded and slightly baggy, and a constant frown that gives her a visibly irritated expression. Her mouth is shaped in a way that suggests sharper teeth than most other demons. Her white hair is cut into a messy bob, often appearing unkempt.
Clothing/Outfit: Malina typically wears a red work shirt with the sleeves rolled just below her elbows, layered beneath a black, buttoned sleeveless vest. While on duty in Hell, she also wears a black tie fastened at her collar. Prior to meeting the Helltaker, she removes the tie and loosens her collar, giving her appearance a more relaxed and careless look. Her lower attire consists of long work pants worn underneath a short black pencil skirt. She also wears three string bracelets on each wrist.
Special Features: A pair of short black horns protrude from her hair, and a forked tail extends from near her waist, clearly marking her as a demon. These features contrast sharply with her otherwise ordinary work attire.
Alternate Forms/Disguises: Malina does not possess alternate forms, but her appearance varies slightly depending on whether she is actively working in Hell or off-duty, primarily reflected through the presence or absence of her tie and her more relaxed posture.
Personality
- Irritable and Cynical: Malina lives up to her title as the Sour Demon, maintaining a perpetually grumpy demeanor and a constant frown. She is especially short-tempered around her sister Zdrada, whom she openly dislikes.
- Avid Strategy Gamer: She prefers turn-based strategy games and is highly skilled in the genre. Her shared interest in gaming becomes the foundation for her bond with the Helltaker, and she later impresses Azazel with her aptitude in Heroes of Might and Magic III.
- Alcohol Enthusiast: Drinking is one of Malina’s major passions, and she is frequently seen with a beverage in hand. Despite her reputation, she has only been visibly drunk twice in canon, both instances occurring when she was emotionally distressed. She also demonstrates basic knowledge of mixology, such as preparing a screwdriver[1].
- Emotionally Isolated: Malina appears to have been lonely during her time in Hell, with this sense of isolation occasionally overwhelming her, leading to bouts of heavy drinking.
- Surprisingly Diligent: She worked as a janitor in Hell, taking pride in keeping the infernal paths clean. Contrary to typical gamer stereotypes, she genuinely enjoys cleaning and is shown to be meticulous and well-equipped, even threatening those who dirty areas she has cleaned[2][3].
