Immortality
Background
Immortality is a state of being where the user is unable to die. A usual misconception in vs debating is that since this is the case they cannot die whatsoever and will automatically win the battle. This is untrue as there are different kinds of immortality that exist, and all of them are not created equally. Some merely stop aging and can still cause one to die from mortal wounds, severe injuries, diseases, etcetera. The following below are different levels of immortality, please note that some of them do occasionally merge with each other in definitions so we've given what the slight differences are for each type.
Levels of Immortality
Type 1 - Ageless

The user possesses immortality through perfect longevity. They are incapable of aging and will never die from natural causes, such as senescence. Additionally, they are resistant to age manipulation and the effects of time. However, this type of immortality does not prevent death from mortal wounds, diseases, or fatal injuries. Users can be physically destroyed through conventional or unconventional means.
- Variations of Ageless Immortality
- Passive Ageless Immortality: The user remains in a perpetual youthful or mature state without external influence. Time has no effect on their body, ensuring eternal life unless killed by external forces.
- Accelerated Ageless Immortality: The user has an enhanced healing factor or regeneration, preventing physical decay while retaining eternal youth.
- Selective Ageless Immortality: The user can choose when to stop aging, maintaining their desired age indefinitely.
Type 2 - Amortality

The user exists as an unborn entity, unable to die due to never having truly lived. They are in a perpetual state of "unbirth" and are unaffected by concepts of life and death. This grants them resistance to life and death manipulation. However, they can still be erased from existence or defeated through reality-warping or conceptual attacks.
- Variations of Amortality
- Existence Amortality: The user was never born and has no defined beginning, making them immune to any form of existence manipulation.
- Conceptual Amortality: The user exists as a concept, preventing their destruction through traditional methods.
- Unbirth Amortality: The user remains in a permanent state of non-existence, making it impossible to interact with or destroy them conventionally.
Type 3 - Life and Death Immunity

The user is neither alive nor dead, standing outside the conventional concepts of life and death. They cannot be killed through traditional means as they lack biological or spiritual existence. While physical attacks are meaningless against them, they remain susceptible to powerful metaphysical abilities like conceptual erasure or existence manipulation.
- Variations of Life and Death Immunity
- Metaphysical Immunity: The user exists beyond physical existence, granting them immunity to most conventional damage.
- Conceptual Life Immunity: The user's state is beyond the concept of life and death, preventing their erasure unless concepts themselves are destroyed.
- Temporal Immunity: Existing outside time, the user cannot be affected by attacks targeting their existence at any point in the timeline.
- Users: Demons (Megami Tensei), Lavos (Chrono Cross)
Type 4- Immortal Metaphysical Aspect

The user survives through their metaphysical essence, allowing them to exist without a physical body. Even if their body is destroyed, their metaphysical presence can linger, regenerate, or possess other entities. Their existence is tied to their soul, consciousness, or essence, making conventional death meaningless.
- Variations of Immortal Metaphysical Aspect
- Soul-Based Immortality: The user’s soul endures independently of their body, allowing them to continue existing without a physical form.
- Consciousness Transfer Immortality: The user transfers their mind into another vessel upon bodily destruction.
- Essence Immortality: The user's core essence can persist even if their physical and spiritual forms are annihilated.
- Users:
Type 5 - Quantum Immortality

The user’s consciousness is preserved by the principles of quantum mechanics. In scenarios where their death would occur, their consciousness shifts to a parallel timeline where they survive. This type of immortality makes any successful killing attempt meaningless as the user will continue existing in another reality.
- Variations of Quantum Immortality
- Multiversal Quantum Immortality: The user's mind exists across infinite timelines, ensuring their survival regardless of circumstances.
- Probability Shift Quantum Immortality: When faced with death, the user manipulates probability to favor their survival.
- Observer Effect Quantum Immortality: The user remains alive as long as they are being observed, preventing their death through the quantum observer effect.
- Users:
Type 6 - Limbo

The user is trapped in a state between life and death, neither fully alive nor deceased. While they cannot be traditionally killed, they are also unable to return to complete life without external intervention. Limbo immortality often occurs as a result of powerful curses, metaphysical forces, or self-inflicted states of existence.
- Variations of Limbo Immortality
- Ethereal Limbo Immortality: The user exists as an ethereal presence, unable to interact with the living world yet unable to pass on.
- Soul Limbo Immortality: The user's soul is bound to an intermediary plane, preventing true death but limiting their freedom.
- Cursed Limbo Immortality: The user is forced into a perpetual limbo state through a powerful curse, preventing their permanent death.
- Users:
Type 7 - Dream Immortality
The user possesses immortality within a dream world or while actively dreaming. Regardless of the damage they sustain, they cannot experience permanent death. Instead, death within the dream often results in the user waking up in the real world, unharmed. This form of immortality may also apply to dream entities who only exist within dreams and cannot die as long as the dream persists.
There are also instances where a user's physical body may be affected by their dream state. While they are still technically immortal within the dream, their real-world body may be at risk of harm or manipulation. In contrast, entities that are solely made of dreams may cease to exist if the dreamer wakes up or if the dream collapses.
- 'Variations of Dream Immortality
- Passive Dream Immortality: The user naturally survives any form of death within a dream world. Upon "dying," they are forcefully ejected from the dream or simply wake up without consequence.
- Active Dream Immortality: The user has conscious control over their immortality in the dream world, often bending the laws of the dream to prevent harm or resurrection. This typically applies to lucid dreamers or dream manipulators.
- Dream Entity Immortality: Users who exist solely within dreams cannot die through conventional means. They may vanish if the dream ends or if their existence is forcibly erased by powerful dream-related abilities.
- Shared Dream Immortality: Multiple users connected to a single dream may share this immortality. If they "die" in the dream, they are expelled from the shared experience without actual harm.
- Users: Madotsuki (Yume Nikki), Sabitsuki (.flow)
Type 8 - Digital Immortality
The user exists as a digital entity, rendering them immune to conventional means of death that apply to physical beings. Their consciousness, essence, or entire existence is stored within a digital space, such as cyberspace, an artificial network, or a virtual simulation. Even if their avatar or projected form is destroyed, they can persist as long as their data remains intact. Some users can transfer between systems or reconstruct themselves from backups.
- Variations of Digital Immortality
- Server-Based Digital Immortality: The user's consciousness is stored on a central server, ensuring their survival as long as the server remains operational.
- Backup Digital Immortality: The user can restore themselves from a backup file if their active form is erased.
- Distributed Digital Immortality: The user is spread across multiple systems or networks, making total deletion extremely difficult.
- AI-Based Digital Immortality: The user functions as an artificial intelligence, allowing them to replicate, adapt, and continue existing despite digital attacks or system failures.
- Users:
