Metaphysics Manipulation

Background

Metaphysics Manipulation is the power to manipulate Metaphysics(from the Greek words μετά (metá) ("beyond", "goal", "upon", or "after") and φυσικά (physiká) ("physics")), the philosophical phenomena beyond physics. The ability to deal with all things undetectable by the physical senses. Metaphysics includes science and goes beyond it to encompass all aspects and dimensions of existence experienced as "reality". In the conscious evolution, metaphysics has taken its place as one of the most comprehensive and most effective means of gaining knowledge and understanding about the true nature of the physical universe. This essentially means the ability extends into the non-physical realms of reality, which includes the first principles of: being or existence, identity, change, space and time, cause and effect, necessity, actuality, and possibility.

The Non-Physical Aspects (Body, Mind, Spirit, Soul, Concept)
As the overall idea of metaphysics is rather complex, we will rather simplify it down to the important part that we expect for this page, which is the different levels of existences. Every form of religion, philosophy, and ideology, have different ideals of how each non-physical aspect works in a hierarchy:

This thusly means, there is no concrete definition of which is objectively higher into a hierarchy then another as every interpretation is different, some imply that is not hierarchy at all and they're all on the same level, some have objects such as souls and spirits as physical and physically interactable with reality, and more:

In some more famous beliefs, like the platonic cosmology, it can be divided into two worlds, the World of Forms and the Physical World. In this belief, the "´Soul", "Spirit", "Mind" and the like all function in the world of forms, being an essence beyond the physical world:

As metaphysics varies greatly depending on the interpretation, there is no definitive extent to how potent a metaphysical world will be in fiction and thus will vary depending on the fiction. Metaphysics also vary depending on the various categories shown below.

Applications

• Soul Manipulation: Soul Manipulation is the ability to affect a person's soul. Often shown as an offense attack, Soul Manipulation is shown varying across all of fiction. Soul Manipulation varies from pulling the Soul out of their bodies to completely absorbing or destroying them, usually instantly killing the person in the process. Under most circumstances, characters are presumed to have souls unless shown/stated otherwise, and those without souls are generally considered to be impervious to most forms of Soul Manipulation, unless shown otherwise.
  • Spirit Manipulation: A concept that normally overlaps with soul manipulation, though the spirit has slight differences. In philosophy, religion, and folk belief, spirit is the vital principle or animating essence within humans or, in some views, all living things. As recently as 1628 and 1633 respectively, both William Harvey and René Descartes still speculated that somewhere within the body, in a special locality, there was a "vital spirit" or "vital force", which animated the whole bodily frame, just as the engine in a factory moves the machinery in it. The concepts of spirit and soul often overlap, and some systems propose that both survive bodily death. "Spirit" can have the sense of "ghost", i.e. a manifestation of the spirit of a deceased person. "Spirit" is also often used to refer to the consciousness or personality.

Demongo (Samurai Jack) is a demonic entity that collects the "essence" of those slain by him, enslaving them to his will and becoming his own army.

• Essence Manipulation: Essence Manipulation is the ability to manipulate, create, and/or destroy essence. Essence is the property or set of properties that make an entity or object what it fundamentally is, and without it, ceases to exist as that entity or object. Essence is more basic and primary than the body, soul, and mind. The physical form of an entity or object is just a projection of it's essence. If a user of Essence Manipulation, manipulate a human being's essence, The user is not just manipulating the properties that the human being has, but the properties that makes a human being, a human being. In more detail, human beings can have different hair colors, different heights, different skin colors, different shapes and sizes and still be a human being. Changing any of these properties, or all of them, will not change that fact that a person is a still a human being. Change a human being's essence, however, the human being ceases to exist as a human being and exists as something entirely different. This is where Essence Manipulation differs from other abilities like, Information Manipulation and Matter Manipulation. High levels of Essence manipulation can also effect abstract things as well, such as personality and identity. You can manipulate the essence of a person's personality to completely change that person. The person ceases to exist as who they were and a new, distinctly different person takes the place of the former.

• Existence Manipulation: The users can manipulate a given existence and can bring certain things into existence, freely manipulate all existing things, and return them to nothingness once their purpose is extinguished. This applies to all-natural and supernatural phenomena alike, as they are but two sides of the same coin in the user's eyes.

• Immaterial Manipulation: The user can create, shape and manipulate the immaterial, i.e., anything in the universe that has no physical form and cannot be perceived by the senses/is not tangible, such as souls, divine beings, concepts, ideas, the mind, and so on.
  • Users:

• Knowledge Manipulation: The user can create, shape and manipulate any/all information/knowledge, they can insert new knowledge into the universe that becomes established fact and reality, or destroy it to do the opposite. An enemy could be made to forget how to walk, while an ally could be given the knowledge of an enemy's weaknesses or mastery of a fighting style. The user can even go as far at higher potent levels to remove one's Cosmic Intelligence or even their Omniscience.

• Logic Manipulation: User manipulate logic/reason, allowing them to do things without any justification or reason behind them and redefine whats normal and whats not and what's possible and impossible. With it, the user can shape reality and ignore all rules like they didn't exist at all.

• Form Manipulation: The user can create, shape and manipulate the forms of oneself, others or objects, as well as bestow traits and attributes such as new appearances, abilities and auras. They can even transform into other species, and potentially possess any form that can be equipped for any situation. The user can even achieve a form that is considered authentic. Form variation like "Phenotypes" (due to underlying heritable genetic variation) is a fundamental prerequisite for evolution by natural selection. It is the living organism as a whole that contributes (or not) to the next generation, so natural selection affects the genetic structure of a population indirectly via the contribution of forms.
