(Krista learned a lot of things about Pokemon while watching TV[1]. Can easily answer Angus' Pokemon trivia and questions[1]. She keeps answering his questions right to the point he questions how it's possible with her responding she just knows a lot[1]. Krista repeatedly[1] answers all of Angus'[1] questions about Pokemon[1] being noted to have mastered his quiz[1])

Before Krista gets her Pokemon, Ethan visits her to show off his Cynadquil. She notes how she will be getting her own Pokemon soon to which Ethan notes they may meet on their journey. Going to Professor Elm's lab, she gets her Chikorita and names it "Vivi", immediately starting her Pokemon journey. However, Krista's Pokemon Journey did not go as expected. Every Pokemon she tried to catch got away. She lost to Falkner in Violet City, with Falkner noting that she doesn't seem engaged nor that her leadership shows in battle. Falkner's words left Krista uncertain and she had not been in a battle due to this. Arriving into Ecruteak City, she decides to try and face the Gym Leader here to see if she has what it takes, but this is when the zombie apocalypse has happened. She is found by a man named Donnie and taken to a motel where everything is safe. There she meets with a guy named Austin who explains to her how a disease spread across Johto. He tells her that she needs to use her Vivi to fight against the infected, while at first reluctant, overtime she becomes more determined to fight against the infected. |

Personality
- Playful & Teasing: Krista teases people and Pokemon a lot. It's normally done with her messing with her friends while sticking her tongue out[1]. She likes teasing Ethan by saying "Oh it's just you" and calling him kid[1]. When meeting Bill she teases him by saying that his name reminds her of a song called Brotherman Bill which gets Bill annoyed[1]. She calls Bill weak for a boy since he says that she is heavy for a girl[1]. When Krista finds graffitti of Aipoms she will add a mustache to it[1] while doing a bad French accent[1].
- Direct: While Krista is an overall caring person, she doesn't really care about things that don't fully affect her[1]. When told about how Donnie mentioned earlier that he found a doctor in Ecruteak City she questions why she's only hearing about that now[1].

Relationships
Ethan
Ethan is a good friend of Krista's, one she even calls a "special friend"[1]. Before she got her Pokemon, he came to her house to show that he got his Cyndaquil[1]. Krista likes teasing Ethan[1].
Krista finds Ethan again while traveling around Olivine City and is glad to see him. Ethan reveals the truth of the infection to Krista and the events he went through in Pokemon Dusk.
They both blush at Krista saying she's glad to have Ethan back[1].
Ethan gives Krista a Clefairy doll as a present[1].
When Krista attempts to attack Team Rocket by herself she gets captured and Ethan goes to save her.
Ethan notes he will always have Krista's back. When running into Ariana Ethan notes he'll fight for Krista if she wants.
In the bad ending if Vivi dies, Ethan notes that he will do whatever for her and takes her home.
In the good ending, Krista and Ethan decide to head back to New Bark Town.
Vivi
Krista's Chikorita, she had the nickname ready for Chikorita the minute she got them from Professor Elm[1].
When tasked with using her Vivi to kill an infected, she asks for the Chikorita's opinion, with Chikorita being determined to help their trainer[1].
When Krista attempts to storm Team Rocket base, Ariana's Pokemon gravely injures Vivi. When Ethan saves them she apologizes to Vivi for everything and asks them if they're able to move. Vivi is able to and she calls Vivi the best Pokemon anyone could ask for.
If her Vivi dies, she falls into complete depression and is ready to kill herself.
In the best ending, Krista reaffirms that together with Vivi they are unstoppable, having Vivi evolve from a Chikorita into a Bayleef.

Elemental Attacks allow her to affect characters that are Far Stronger (Elemental attacks allow for fights where Ethan's Quilava could defeat a[2] big infected Venasaur[2] due to it being a plant-type which is naturally weak to fire attacks[2] and being a zombie which is already weak against fire[2]. This can even work in situations of type disadvantages[3]. Elemental Attacks can allow Pokemon to take down far larger Pokemon overtime causing massive earthquakes[4])

Powers and Techniques
- Human Achievements
- Pokemon Trainer: Krista initially started as a lackluster Pokemon trainer but going through the zombie apocalypse made her a more competent trainer, being capable of beating the Gym Leader Morty.
- Room Designer: Krista is able to[1] design her own room with the Deco PC[1].
- Sheer Will (Brave enough to go through the cellar filled with infected to where the Kimono Girls expected Krista to run away scared[1]. The Kimono Girls even note they admire Krista's courage[1]. Bill notes how Krista has become much more determined[1]. Morty notes Krista hsa more guts then he thought[1], stating he initially thought Krista would be running out of the door when she first entered the gym but she proven she has courage and the necessary fighting spirit[1]. Bill notes how Krista has changed a lot in the past few days[1], she no longer runs away from danger she fights it[1], she dares to leave the safehouse without anyone having to persuade her[1])
- Psychological Resilience (Was greatly disturbed but did not mentally break from entering a house and seeing all of her friends dead[1]. Saw the heads of the people impaled and their eyes removed and still had the resolve to fight and kill the Hypno[1])

- Non-Standard Interaction
- Non-Standard Defenses (Vivi can take hits from special attacks that differ from physical attacks)
- Accelerated Development
- Battle
- Plant Manipulation (With Razor Leaf, shoots out a leaf projectile that attacks from a distance[1])
- Non-Standard Damage (Just like how Water Gun is considered a special attack[6], razor leaf & magical should also be considered a special attack. This is further proven by razor leaf being capable of harming Haunter when physical attacks have no effect on them[1]).
- Resistance to
- Disease Manipulation & Zombification (Brando can take bites and scratches from the infected[5], with it being acknowledged that if Vivi misses attacks the zombie will attack them[1], without turning into a zombie. With it being noted that being bitten even once is already enough to turn into a zombie[6])
- Poison Manipulation (Poison does not kill Pokemon and vanishes at low HP[5])
- Water Manipulation (As a grass type, water type attacks are not very effective against them)
- Plant Manipulation (As a grass type, grass type attacks are not very effective against them)
- Electricity Manipulation (As a grass type, electric type attacks are not very effective against them)

Vivi is a Chikorita that is Krista's only Pokemon[1].
Vivi later evolves from a Chikorita into a Bayleef due to the strong bond between her and Krista[1].
PokéGEAR
- Description: The PokéGEAR is a piece of equipment Krista always has on her. It acts as an all purpose mobile device for multiple uses. Initially her Pokegear is not functioning[1] being in need of repair[1]. Eventually she gets Bill[1] to repair it[1]. However the phone module is broken[1] though he was able to save the GPS module so Krista can view her current location[1]. There is also a custom innovation in Krista's PokéGEAR from Bill's memory stick that had custom firmware that adds a new module that can collect trophies with the PokéGEAR[1].
- Usage: Used primarily for calls like a cellphone, checking where on is in the overworld, and listening to music. Krista's specifically comes with a module that can collect trophies.
- Function: The Pokegear has a contact list of numbers to call with[5], look at a full map of Kanto or Johto[5], and a radio module installed[5] to listen to different radio stations or to ones own music[5].

Notable Techniques
Vine Whip
A melee attack used by Chikroita to attack the undead[1].
It causes knockback when a target is hit.
Razor Leaf
A ranged attack used to attack undead from a distance[1].
It does not cause knockback.
Leaf Blade
Vivi learns this from having the squirt bottle sprayed on them[1].
It can cut apart bushes and deals double damage.
Magical Leaf
After Vivi's battle with Haunter, they learned Magical Leaf naturally[1].
It is a special attack that deals double damage to enemies and inflicts knockback[1].
Other
Standard Tactics: Krista utilizes Vivi to fight against enemies, standing behind Vivi while letting Vivi lead the way[1]; if Vivi at all dies/is fainted, then Krista effectively has no battle strategies left and will lose herself[1].
Weaknesses
- Krista Weaknesses: Krista effectively cannot fight against the zombies if Vivi dies[1]. Bill even notes that without Krista's Chikorita they are completely lost[1]. If Krista's voice cannot come out, she cannot give commands to Vivi[5]. Krista has a messed up[1] sleep schedule due[1] to the apocalypse[1] sleeping through the entire day[5].
- Vivi Weaknesses: Vivi cannot use attacks one after the other[1], Vivi needs to wait for the blue "PP" bar to be full again[1], which an in-universe thing would simply be Vivi needs a quick rest before they can throw out the next attack[1]. Pokemon can only attack if given orders to, such as when a Rocket Grunt was choking Ethan to death and Brando did not attack until Ethan commanded Brando to[5]. As a grass type their attacks aren't very effective on other grass types, fire types, poison types, dragon types, bug types, steel types, and flying types. As a grass type they are weak to fire type, ice type, poison type, flying type and bug type attacks.
Explanations
The Infection
The infection is a disease that spread across Johto due to the incompetence of Team Rocket.
The infection was caused by an artifact which Team Rocket stole[5]. Team Rocket read the text saying "The power to make everyone weak-willed and dangerous" and interpreted this as they would be able to mind control people[5].
Team Rocket raided the Goldenrod City Radio Tower to link up the artifact to the radio tower and spread its waves across all of Johto[5].
These effects started reviving recently deceased humans and Pokemon[5].
It's noted by Professor Elm that every single person and Pokemon in the country is infected regardless of whether they were bitten or not, so if they die they will turn into a zombie[5].
Trivia
- Krista makes a reference to Bill's name sounding like Brotherman Bill[1], which is a meme song well known in certain communities[1].
- Krista seems to be obsessed with something being under a truck to the point that she will keep repeatedly looking under the truck until there's something under there[1].
- Krista is seemingly more competent then Ethan, as Ethan has gotten survivors[5] bitten or killed due to not acting fast enough[5] meanwhile Krista has always avoided sneak attacks from zombies[1].
- Krista is noted to be very heavy for a girl[1].
- Krista is not that into the theater[1].
- Krista loves the NES[1], calling it the coolest thing until the SNES came out 8 or nine years ago[1].
